...i felt that
it wouldn't have been a sad movie if they were ok with a foursome
natalie portman in a strip club with a pink wig while the smiths is playing in the background truly is the pinnacle of cinema
“lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off, but it’s better if you do.”
“you like him coming in your face?”
“yes.”
“how does it taste?”
“it tastes like you but sweeter.”
pretty wild how panic! at the disco and fall out boy lifted their lines directly from closer (2004). like, out of all the movies in the world why did this one resonate so deeply with pop punk bands? the entire plot is basically just “hot people in london can’t stop cheating on each other,” and 3/4 of the characters are rich and successful. is this particularly relatable to the pop punk movement?? how??? the only thing i can think of that is remotely punk at all is natalie portman‘s pink-wigged manic pixie dream girl. other than that, i’m at a complete loss. and i think about this a lot.
everyone in this movie is an asshole except my queen natalie portman.
everybody is sad and horny
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
im disappointed that julia roberts and natalie portman didnt end up together
Overdramatic Cheating Culture
fun fact: if you remove the c from this film's title, Jude Law becomes the titular character
straight people culture is fucking wild
this was so terrible, i don't even know where to start. the characters resemble the tropes you normally see written by teenagers in fanfictions: law's character is the classic quirky writer, self-insert male lead, and portman is his manic pixie wet dream. i will refer to the other two characters as the other two, because they exist solely to round off the awkward love square that the film is centered on, and have no other attributes to speak of.
love at first sight is a very prevalent theme in this film. you will know the characters are in love when they caress each others faces on their first meeting. this happens often.
the writers are also very liberal with 'deep…
