As someone who has been a lifelong LOTR obsessor (both books and the trilogy - books more so in my early years), I got very little out of this. It feels like a very shielded attempt at grasping at whatever straws left by Tolkien, in this case literally a few pages worth of material stretched into a 2 hour+ film (and one that felt more like 4 hours, to be honest). In this dark age of assembly line sequels, remakes, and spin-offs, a feature-length anime film set within Middle-earth — specifically in the version of it that Peter Jackson immortalized with his “Lord of the Rings” trilogy — qualifies as an appreciably novel method for Warner Bros. to milk a few more dollars from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy universe. I think I need to rewatch this to rate and rank it properly, but you know me... every minute spent in Middle-earth is a minute spent well. I definitely had a lot of fun with War of the Rohirrim. 2024 has been a great year for the Middle-earth fan in me so far <3

Who would’ve thought that this famous story from the LOTR universe would be so beautifully told in anime form. As far as I'm concerned, they can keep doing this forever. King Helm voiced by Brian Cox is truly a force of nature! So much better than The Hobbit trilogy and The Rings of Power series.

As someone whose favorite movie is The Return of the King, I'm against comparing this movie to the original trilogy and judging it accordingly. No matter how many years pass, I think there will never be a better movie than The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, so I don't think there is any need to have unnecessary expectations. Yesterday I, Yves son of Paulus went to see the avant premiere of LOTR War Of The Rohirrim together with my liege, Vanessa daughter of Chantal. It is good to vist the beautiful planes of Rohan one more time. Our people showed up in big numbers. But haven't our people sacrificed enough to suffer through 2 u 14 of humorless direness? Especially in the first half it felt like butter scraped over too much bread. I didn't need a seeing stone to know what happened next.
The second half the movie almost gets to be it's own thing. But too little too late.

Wulf is just a man, Hera is everything.
I'm a huge LOTR fan. For me it's not just a fictional thing. For me it's as Middle Earth already existed. Like we are living comfortably because the ring was destroyed. All the characters seem to me like have really existed and belong to our history. Sometimes I wish I lived in Middle Earth, as if such a place existed. LOTR is maybe not everything for me but it's something much important. Hearing the LOTR soundtrack at the beginning of the movie almost made me cry, so it was a special experience for me.
