May We Get Some RE-R in This Pitiful Village! (1) (この痛ましい里で休息を！①, Kono Itamashii Sato de Kyūsoku wo! 1) is the forty-sixth chapter of the KonoSuba manga series, and covers Chapters 2 to 3 in Volume 5 of the light novels.
Summary[]
As the Oni chase after the surrounded and outnumbered Kazuma and his companions while they flee, Kazuma trips over and drops the limp Megumin he had been carrying. But just when an Oni prepares to kill the hated Crimson Magic girl, four figures muttering pompous chuunibyou proclamations apppear on scene after seeing the Explosion Megumin had cast and arrived to help, before annihilating the monsters with multiple Light of Saber. As they hear of what happened from Megumin, in response to their leader Bukkororii's introduction, Kazuma also makes a Crimson Magic Clan style introduction of his own, which prompts Aqua and Darkness to follow.
Afterwards, the party gets Teleported by the four vigilantes to the Crimson Magic Village, only to find it perfectly intact. Bukkororii and his companions then disappear from view to Kazuma's astonishment, though Yunyun points out that they are only hiding themselves from view by magic that bends light. She is accordingly hit by a stone thrown out from thin air, so Aqua approaches the spot it is thrown from and chases away the four vigilantes, who Megumin explains are actually unemployed village NEETs calling themselves a guerilla force for fighting the Demon King's Army.
Arriving at the chieftain home, Kazuma and his companions discover that Yunyun's father had actually grossly exaggerated the danger on the letter he sent. As another attack from the Demon King's Army occurs, the chief shows the visitors that despite one of the Demon King's Generals being present, the advanced magic that every adult in the clan can wield is more than enough for repelling them.
Kazuma afterwards expresses his awe at how the true Crimson Magic Clan fights to Megumin's ire, before the party parts with Yunyun and heads for the rundown shack that is Megumin's home, where Komekko is astounded at seeing her sister returning with a man. In the ensuing meeting with Megumin's parents, Hyoizaburoo initially treats Kazuma coldly while grilling him about his relationship with the resting Megumin, though his attitude changes as soon as Kazuma offers him some cheap snacks as gift. Subsequent to Yuiyui reiterating the sexual harrassments Kazuma had committed on Megumin as written in the letters from her, Kazuma lets slip that not only is he cleared of debt but he will also receive hundreds of millions of eris in addition to living in a mansion, which sends Megumin's parents into a frenzy.
Later that night, Kazuma after taking a bath hears Darkness protest Yuiyui's decision to let him sleep with Megumin. Yuiyui though puts Darkness to Sleep just like with the rest of the others, before shoving Kazuma into the room containing only one futon that is occupied by a sleeping Megumin.
