Overview
The Bestiary is a detailed in-game logbook that records all the different types of catching fisch and items fischers caught throughout their adventure. It helps track the player's progress by cataloging various species found across the game’s many different islands, with some fish having multiple variations. Completing a significant portion of the bestiary (70%) unlocks the Destiny Rod that can be bought at The Arch for C$190,000. The bestiary encourages exploration and mastery of the fishing mechanics by rewarding thoroughness and dedication. All fish also may have Mutations which increase the price and change the appearance of the fish. As of update 1.13.0, there are a total of 326 in-game items that the player could receive or catch. Trivia
- Limited fish are not required for the bestiary % completion.
- If a Limited fish is uncatchable, the player can still get it through trades.
- When the player obtains a fish or item from a different player, it will not add to the Bestiary % completion.
- While fishing, a player may also obtain a Magic Thread, Ancient Thread, Lunar Thread, Treasure Map or may catch the Nuke instead of fish. However, these items are not included in the bestiary, so they dont give % to it.
- Fish and Items and Relics are measured in kg (kilograms), and the Big or Giant Mutations can make the fish appear bigger and heavier.
- These are all the locations in the bestiary. - When the player has 100% of the bestiary completed, the bookmark on the player's book is shiny.
- All fish caught with a perfect catch will give 50% more exp.
