Author's Notes These days, whatever book I read says that the「mermaids」that the sailors saw back then were probably actually all 「dugongs」. The scientist who said that. You, sit right there. For example, a sailor back then. Let's say his name is "Nishimura-san". He says this.「Me saw e mermaid」. Now that's the pure reason why mermaid legends were created. But you just said it straight out.「Maybe it was a Dugong.」Yes, and with this the whole world took it seriously. Well well, Nishimura-san is now very disappointed. Crying to bed in the otherworld.「BUT I SAW ZE MERMAID.」 Cheer up. Nishimura-san. DUGONGS ARE PRETTY CUTE TOO, YOU KNOW?

• 206. Ignition (点火, Tenka^?): While Luffy is still fighting Crocodile, the other Straw Hat Pirates help Vivi reach the top of the clock tower in a quick but unorthodox way.
• 207. Nightmare (悪夢, Akumu^?): As Vivi is propelled upwards by Zoro and Chopper she manages to reach the top of the clock tower and defeat Mr. 7 and Miss Father's Day, only for her sorrow to increase.
• 208. Guardian Spirit (守護神, Shugoshin^?): Pell sacrifices himself to save the city and takes the bomb in the sky, where it explodes.
• 209. I Will Surpass You (超えて行く, Koete Yuku^?): As the bomb explodes, the rebels and army stand up to continue the battle. Vivi cries out for the fighting to stop, but nobody can hear her pleas. At the Poneglyph's location, Luffy puts all of his might into defeating Crocodile.
• 210. 0 (0（ゼロ）, Zero^?): Luffy defeats Crocodile, smashing through the roof. Vivi's pleas fall on deaf ears, but as the rain begins to fall, the people stop fighting and begin listening to her, ending the war.
• 211. King (王, Ou^?): With all Baroque Works agents defeated, Vivi and Cobra puts an end to the Arabasta civil war, leaving the mission accomplished for the Straw Hat Pirates.
• 212. Some Justice (いくつかの正義, Ikutsuka no Seigi^?): Tashigi gives orders not to arrest the Straw Hat Pirates, causing her to cry and blame herself for letting them get away. Smoker suggests she should get stronger.
• 213. VIP (VIP（ビップ）, Bippu^?): While they wait for Luffy to wake up, the Straw Hat Pirates enjoy the city. Once he does, they discover that Luffy and Zoro have received new bounties.
• 214. Strategy to Escape the Sand Kingdom (砂の国脱出作戦, Suna no Kuni Dasshutsu Sakusen^?): The Straw Hat Pirates plan their escape, relying on Mr. 2 for help.
• 215. Last waltz (Last（ラスト） waltz（ワルツ）, Rasuto Warutsu^?): Vivi prepares to give her speech, as the Straw Hat Pirates escape into the ocean using Mr 2's group as decoys.
• 216. Vivi's Adventure (ビビの冒険, Bibi no Bōken^?): Vivi gives her speech, stating that she will be remaining on Arabasta. As the Straw Hat Pirates leave, they show her their X Marks, showing they'll remain friends.

• Miss Goldenweek did not eat a Devil Fruit and is rather a powerful hypnotist.
• Oda explains somewhat the relation between Merfolk and Fish-Men, but doesn't go to deep into it.
• Oda draws what Mr. 7 would look like as Mr. 6.

The drawing of Smoker on Page 230 was done by Kōhei Horikoshi, who would go on to be serialized in Shonen Jump three times; in 2014, 12 years after this submission, Horikoshi's third work My Hero Academia was serialized and became extremely popular, running for a decade. To pay tribute to the end of its run in 2024, Oda recreated Horikoshi's Smoker submission for the cover of Chapter 1122.
