Author's Note

Author's Notes I'd like to talk about one of my favorite little stories from the classic piece of Japanese literature, Tsurezure-gusa. Long ago, there was a master tree climber. He would silently watch his apprentice climb, and only when the younger man was one step away from the ground again would he say, "Be careful." What a deep story!! People get themselves hurt when they take their safety for granted. As an adult, you'll see this play out often. But the one thing I've never seen in all my life is a master tree climber. Okay! Let's not take Volume 101 for granted!! Here it comes!!!

• 1025. Twin Dragons Painting (双龍図, Sōryū-zu^?): Momonosuke takes Luffy to confront Kaidou again.

• All the officers of the Red Hair Pirates are revealed.
• The three samurai that appeared in Chapter 1024 are revealed as being Shimotsuki Ushimaru, Fugetsu Omusubi and Uzuki Tempura.

		Chapter 1018, page 4-5 Correction: The number of traitors and casualties from the Beasts Pirates changed from "a thousand" (千人) to "two thousand" (２千人) each.
		Chapter 1022, page 15 Correction: King's epithet corrected from "Flame" (火炎, Kaen?) to "Conflagration" (火災, Kasai?).

• As a special event for the 100th volume, Eiichiro Oda is doing a three volume cover spread encompassing volumes 99, 100 and 101.
  • This is the second time that Oda is doing a volume cover spread, the first one was with volumes 21 and 22.
  • Volume 13 of One Piece Magazine included a full spread illustration of the three volume covers.
• This volume along with Volume 99 are currently the only volume without Luffy on the cover that does not exclusively contain antagonists on the cover.
