First Character Popularity Contest[]
The first character popularity contest took place between September 21, 2022 and October 5, 2022. Voting was conducted online using a points based system, where one point was given for voting on the website, 1000 points were given for a retweet vote, and 10,000 points were given for a retweet vote while following the official Twitter. The contest was in commemoration of the serialization of the 100th chapter of Frieren, as well as for the announcement of the Frieren anime. Accordingly, one hundred characters were available for voting. These characters were officially listed on a Web Sunday campaign page. The results were published with Chapter 105 of the manga, released on December 7, 2022.

First Chapter Popularity Contest[]
The first chapter popularity contest was announced on September 26, 2023 and released alongside an anime celebration campaign where readers could view Volumes 1 through 10 for free online. The chapters eligible included all chapters from Chapter 1 through Chapter 112. The results of the vote were shared in Issue #2 (2024) of Weekly Shonen Sunday, which revealed that 208877 votes were submitted in total.

First Fanart Contest[]
The first fanart contest was announced by the official Twitter account on November 4, 2023, with entries being accepted through December 8, 2023. The contest had two categories: manga and illustrations. Winners were announced on March 1, 2024.
Format[]
Illustrators could enter the contest by posting their work on Twitter with the tag #フリーレンFA
.
- Manga: Any manga entry must have included at least one page. Outside of that, there was no limit on the number of pages. The writer of the series, Kanehito Yamada, judged this category.
- Illustration: The illustration could consist of any characters related to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The illustrator of the series, Abe Tsukasa, judged this category.
Prizes[]
Two winners, one from each category, were grand prize winners and each received a ¥50,000 travel voucher alongside commentary from the judge of their respective category. Additionally, one runner-up from the manga category and two runner-ups from the illustration category each received a ¥10,000 travel voucher.

Second Character Popularity Contest[]
A second character popularity contest was announced on March 1, 2024, which was also the beginning of the voting period. Audiences were allowed to vote an unlimited number of times. The voting period lasted until March 24, 2024, and the top thirty rankings were published by the official Twitter shortly after. The remaining results will be included in a future issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday. There were a total of 116 characters that could receive votes, which included all introduced characters from Chapter 1 through Chapter 116 of the manga. A total of 12,688,733 votes were cast.

The first panel popularity contest was announced on January 26, 2024, with the voting period lasting through February 16, 2024. The selected panels aligned with what was covered during the first cour of the anime, Chapter 1 through Chapter 36. The panel with the most votes were chosen for sticker and acrylic keychain merchandise. The results of the vote were shared on March 27, 2024 and revealed that 196709 votes were submitted in total.
