And it has been making me cross, cross-eyed and nearly anti cross-stitch!
It has in truth been a wisp. My mother started it as a xmas present for my nephew (who apparently thought it was cute).
And I didn't have the heart to throw out mum's needlework, fabrics etc....etc. Got the picture?
Each autumn I have sewn a little and thought of the surprise it would be for my nephew when it was finished. Hihi. I never got it done in time for xmas, so I'd put it away for next autumn. But this year he will get his surprise!!! I have slaved day after day - each day thinking it was close to the last stitch - but no, just a little here and there.......
The dogs were slightly startled this afternoon when I finally let out a yell of triumph! It was done! I am free to blog and do all the other things piling up on my worktable.....
I only have to frame it - and while hunting for the frame (which mysteriously isn't around any longer), I rediscovered the rest of mum's stash of cross-stitch wisps. Oh well, I can pick one out for next xmas, can't I?
Congrats on finishing. It is really beautiful. I had to stop cross stitching as it also made my eyes hurt. hugs xxx

ReplyDeleteI think your idea is worth exploring. Perhaps I too will stop blogging to finish a WIP. ;-)
