I'm almost glad there aren't too many movies like Don't Think Twice because these kinds of films leave such a strong effect on me and I never want that feeling to fade away.

Who gave him the right to make a movie about baseball that explores the ever-changing music scene of the late 70's and early 80's that is so funny and enjoyable, featuring a cast full of great characters and brilliant performances. I never wanted it to end. Gimme a sequel chronicling the baseball season and I'll be the happiest idiot alive.

Between fleeting moments of incredible dramatic potential, a subdued performance by Ethan Hawke and the strangest Beatles reference this side of Watergate, First Reformed probably succeeds as a complex character study.
But because of Newton's 3rd law, this also fails as an engaging story. I wouldn't be so low on it if I didn't believe so strongly in the potential it had.
I don't care how good a movie is, if there are screaming children: I. WILL. HATE. IT.
