The Mosquito is an insect that can be found near the Koi Pond, on the Flower Bed, and in both Flooded Zones. They serve as a very formidable threat for the player. They won't spawn in a majority of the Flower Bed and Flooded Zone until the player finds 1 Super BURG.L Chip and gives it to BURG.L. They have an upper yard variant called the Tiger Mosquito.
Behavior[]
The Mosquito is a flying insect that will attack players on sight. They're commonly found around the pond and, once they target the player, they can be very persistent. Along with their attacking behavior, they will commonly land on the ground and on the leaves of Thistle Plants or Hedge leaves before walking around on the ground. They also tend to drink Aphid Honeydew left on the ground by Aphids. They have three attacks, a normal poke, a three-combo poke, and a long charge poke where they do a loop then stab the player. Mosquitoes also have a life steal effect when damaging creatures, though it is very minimal.
Interaction With Player[]
The Mosquito will always attack players on sight, and while they are persistent, they will never dive underwater to follow the player. A Mosquito can get a filled blood sack by attacking the player enough, in which it will drop it.
Interaction With Other Creatures[]
The Mosquito doesn't directly interact with other creatures. However, if a Mosquito is lured into a spider's web it can become trapped.
Wasps and Wasp Drones are extremely aggressive to Mosquitos, and will commonly be seen attacking them and likely killing them.
Advanced Loot Table[]
This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Mosquito. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.
Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.
Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Strategy[]
The player should use a tier 2 weapon and at least decent armor to tackle them, and should avoid fighting large swarms of Mosquitoes. The Mosquitoes normal poke can be easily blocked, though the loop attack can be both blocked and easily dodged. The combo is much harder to predict, with its telegraph being it starting to erratically swing back and forth.
Trivia[]
- Grounded's mosquitoes appear to be based on the Aedes genus, more specifically Aedes japonicus, the Asian Bush Mosquito.
