- “She's a snake-shifter. Her name is Stringbean, and she's perfect.”
- ―Luz introducing Stringbean[src]
Stringbean is Luz's palisman who appears in the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House.
Background[]
She was carved from palisman wood by Luz. But instead of carving her into an animal, Luz carved the wood into an egg because she wanted it to choose its own form. When Luz figured out what she really wanted in life, to be understood, her palisman egg hatched and formed into what she called a "snake-shifter".
Physical appearance[]
Stringbean is a purplish black colored snake with a white face and light purple underbelly. Her eyes are purple, she has cat like ears, and a tongue like that of a snake. She also has a teal ball at the end of her tail. Her appearance depends on her current form, however she is always part snake and keeps her color scheme.
Powers and abilities[]
- Shapeshifting: As a "snake-shifter", Stringbean can change into any shape, like an asian dragon, a snake, a bat, or a scorpion.
Role in the series[]
In "For the Future", Stringbean finally hatched from her egg after Luz expressed her wish "to be understood".
