Signature requirements and deadlines for 2011 state government elections
Note: The signature filing deadline is the date by which candidates must file nominating signatures with election officials in order to have their name placed on the ballot.
The 5 states below will hold statewide elections in 2011. Kentucky will not be holding state legislative elections. Kentucky has elections for statewide officials, such as Governor.

Louisiana | September 6-8, 2011. | October 22, 2011 | There are several methods by which a candidate can qualify for the ballot. For State Representative, a fee of $225, Central Committee Fee of $112.50, and a Parish Executive Committee Fee(If Assessed) of $112.50. Candidates can obtain 400 signatures in lieu of a fee. State Senator candidates must pay $300, a Central Committee Fee of $150, a Parish Executive Committee Fee(If Assessed) of $150. Candidates can obtain 500 signatures in lieu of fee. | |

***-Virginia's primary has been rescheduled to August 23, 2011 instead of its usual date of June 14, 2011[4][5].[6]
