Alanna "Nina" Twine is a contestant from Australian Survivor: Blood v Water and Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains.
Daughter of Survivor legend Sandra Diaz-Twine, Nina was eager to step out of her mother's shadow in Blood v Water. She showed an acumen for the game, finding herself firmly in the majority on both her starting and switched tribes. To affirm her loyalty to her majority alliance, Nina made the ultimate sacrifice by voting out her mother. However, her game was cut short following an ankle injury that led to her evacuation on Day 22.
Returning as a Hero in Heroes v Villains to finish what she started, Nina began the game in her tribe's majority alliance. Though she looked to be sitting on top come the merge, the defections of Hayley Leake and Matt Sharp caused her to fall into the minority, where she stayed for the remainder of the game. Despite this, Nina was able to use her social game to claw her way to the final five, where a passionate but poorly-timed performance at Tribal Council sealed her fate as it prompted swing vote George Mladenov to eliminate her over Matt.

Playing in the shadow of her mother's Survivor legacy doesn't intimidate Nina, who is ready for the challenge. Nina says: "The best advice my mum has given me is to keep your head down but your ears open. You don't want the target to be on you, you want it to be on somebody else, so that has been really helpful."
Have you done any training or planning before starting?
I have watched multiple seasons of Australian Survivor specifically, and began doing mental exercises, like meditation, to try and learn how I can keep myself calm and alert out there.
What are you most looking forward to?
Survivor royalty, Nina had her game cut short in Blood V Water and is ready to come back stronger than ever.
"To say I have unfinished business with this game, I feel like is a little bit of an understatement. I went home in a really good position, and it was nobody's choice, like it just had to happen, so I got a lot of things I need to do. Me and Australian Survivor are not done, we had a break, we went to therapy, we talked things through and now I'm back and we're ready to go again."
After playing in last season's Australian Survivor: Blood V Water with her mum, Survivor Legend Sandra, Nina has a bonus reason for playing in Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains.
She says, "So I'm here in Samoa and as some people may know my mum played as a Villain here and won! If this season was made for anybody, it would be made for someone like me cause I'm a Hero raised by a Villain."
A retail sales associate, Nina is ready for the hunger and sleep deprivation since she's done it before and wants to help the newcomers feel welcome in the game but won't give the same kindness to the Villains. She says, "I don't think the Villains have any idea who they're up against because they're probably going to try and underestimate us and that's gonna be a big mistake."[3]Australian Survivor[]
Blood v Water[]
Nina came to the game with her mother Sandra Diaz-Twine, who was returning for her fifth outing. Nina was assigned to the Water tribe, while Sandra was placed on Blood. On Day 2, after Water lost the first Immunity Challenge, Andy Meldrum wanted to target Alex Frost, who was suffering from a back injury. Wanting to play her own game, Nina decided to target Andy instead, as she found him untrustworthy. After discussing with several tribe members, her plan to blindside Andy succeeded at Tribal Council. On Day 5, after Water lost another Immunity Challenge, Shay Lajoie found a Hidden Immunity Idol. Nina, alongside Khanh Ong, encouraged her not to use the idol on Briana Goodchild, her closest ally, who was that night's target. At Tribal Council, Shay held onto her idol, leaving Briana to be voted out. For the rest of the pre-swap phase, Nina managed to integrate herself into the Water majority alliance by aligning closely with tribe leader Mark Wales.
On Day 15, at the Tribe Switch, Nina joined the new Blood tribe alongside Sandra. When Blood lost the next Immunity Challenge, Nina tried to protect Sandra by suggesting to her allies to vote out Mel Chiang instead. However, at Tribal Council, Nina joined the rest of the tribe to vote out her mother unanimously. On Day 20, after Blood lost the Immunity Challenge, Nina was approached by two different plans, either voting alongside her allies against Amy Ong, or following Amy's plan to split the cousins Jordan Schmidt and Josh Millgate by voting out the latter. In the end, Nina chose to remain loyal to her alliance and vote out Amy.
On Day 21, Nina talked strategy with Shay Lajoie, whom she deemed her closest friend. Both wanted to use the strong guys of the tribe as a shield entering the merge. As her allies wanted to vote out Shay, Nina talked with Josh, Jordan, and Jordie Hansen to vote out Mel instead, which they seemed to agree with. During the Reward Challenge, Nina injured her left ankle. Despite Nina's injury, Blood won the challenge. During the reward, Nina was taken by medical staff temporarily to go through x-rays. The day after, before the Immunity Challenge, Nina was brought back in a walking boot, as it was revealed that Nina fractured her foot. The doctors determined that the risk of Nina getting injured again was too high, so she was pulled from the game. After Nina said goodbye to both tribes, host Jonathan LaPaglia hinted that it was not the last time Australian Survivor would feature Nina.

^1 In "Episode 5", the Heroes were subjected to a mock Tribal Council where the player they voted out was switched to the other tribe.
^2 In "Episode 10", the vote ended with a 4-4 tie between Jordie and Sam, forcing a revote. Nina changed her vote to Jordie on the revote.
^3 In "Episode 12", rather than voting out a member of the tribe, the Villains were given the chance for one castaway to mutiny to the Heroes. Nina did not choose to mutiny.
^4 In "Episode 14", Liz used a Hidden Immunity Idol on Shonee, negating Nina's vote against her.
^5 In "Episode 16", Nina used a Hidden Immunity Idol, but did not negate any votes against her.
^6 In "Episode 20", Fa'amolemole was subjected to a mock Tribal Council where the two players who received the most votes were sent to live in isolation. Nina ultimately received enough votes to be sent to isolation.
^7 In "Episode 21", the vote ended with a 3-3 tie between Nina and Simon, forcing a revote. On the revote, Nina did not receive any votes to be eliminated.
