Kate "KJ" Austin is a contestant from Australian Survivor: Blood v Water.

KJ's initial hopes of playing a quiet game were interrupted by the arrival of her sister Sophie Cachia on her tribe, forcing her to eliminate her sister by the tribe switch. Post-merge, KJ reverted to her under-the-radar gameplay, which caused her to be voted out by the majority she sought to placate. After narrowly surviving Purgatory, KJ switched gears, vowing to play more actively. Assisted by a lucky break with the Safety Without Power advantage, KJ found herself in the driver's seat for the first time, but her power quickly fizzled out. A promising but unsuccessful attempt to consolidate a women's alliance with Chrissy Zaremba led to her elimination at the final five.

As a Survivor super-fan, Kate (KJ) comes armed with the knowledge she has taken on after meticulously watching past seasons, and is excited to play with her younger sister, Sophie.
Two very different people, KJ is hoping to use some of Sophie's traits to help her in the game as Sophie is a driven businesswoman who doesn't take no for an answer.
What's one thing people won't expect from you?
I absolutely love fishing and I'm great at it. My Dad taught me to fish down in Tasmania when I was a little girl and I have never been afraid to get my hands dirty.
What's the strategy you're both adopting going in?
I think we'll play our own game as we're two very different people. I'll try to play the game in line with my values and who I am here on the outside.^[2]

^1 In "Episode 10", the Water tribe was subjected to a mock Tribal Council where the players voted against were eligible to be kidnapped by the other tribe. KJ ultimately received enough votes to be kidnapped.
^2 In "Episode 21", Mark used a Hidden Immunity Idol, negating KJ's vote against him. Also, the vote ended with a 2-2-0 tie between David and Jordie, forcing a revote. KJ changed her vote to Jordie on the revote.
