31 DAYS OF HORROR 2022 - Film 30
"Can you step on my sunglasses and throw me down a hill so I can be cool and fuuck" - One of my best friends, Sean McGovern
Laurie Strode has completely changed her life in the past four years since Michael Myers finished his last rampage and disappeared. She's baking cookies and pie and doing her best to be a good grandmother. One day on a trip to the store she meets a nice young man being tormented by bullies and gives him a hand. She likes him so introduces her to her granddaughter who lives with her now. He's a bullied young man and Laurie is a tough as nails individual so the two bond. That is until another run-in with his bullies introduces him to Michael Myers. An introduction that sends him down a path of destruction that leads to the ultimate showdown between Laurie and her "boogie-man."
I waited well over a week to watch this so I could catch it with my friends at the cabin in the woods. That entire time was filled with people talking about how much they hated it. Well....it's finally time to find out for myself.
An awesome intro scene led me into one of the most hit and miss films that I have seen in a while. A slow burn full of terrible writing that somehow introduces what I call Michael Mayers, a bootleg Michael Myers who looks like a dollar store version of John Mayer ordered on wish.com. I don't like it, but it's the ultimate conclusion to a re-make trilogy that started in amazing fashion, followed by a film that started the same and ended like shit, and then concluded with this shit.
The kills are cool but the rest is ASS!!! Darcy the Mailgirl makes a cameo but it's not enough to save this shitty writing. What a waste of a great idea. Please stop making sequels!
