I am not disappointed as I didn't have high expectations. The plot doesn't feel like it belongs to a film that is concluding a trilogy. I kept thinking how this plot would have worked much better in Halloween Kills instead. Even as a standalone film though, it doesn't quite work.
I kind of liked what they were doing with Corey until that shitshow of a finale. All that screentime dedicated to him only to die so quick like he didn't even matter? Whatever, I loved that he got his revenge on those insufferable kids. I have nothing to say about Laurie or Michael as they hardly had anything to do here besides the final act showdown, this is a Corey movie entirely.
This was a different Halloween film until it turned into the Laurie vs Michael showdown, I will forget about it within the next day. I will compliment it though for not being as awful as I thought it would be, it's certainly not the worst Halloween film because there were way worse Halloween sequels in the past. Trilogies like this and the Star Wars sequel trilogy will be a reminder of what it means to restart a franchise without having a complete plan from the beginning.
