Pumpkin King Marathon 🎃 👑 (2022)

Going to have to meet you guys right s̶m̶a̶c̶k̶ stab dab in the middle with this one. As even though Halloween Ends could never have been realistically expected to glue this disjointed reboot trilogy together...whatnot with the non sequitur narrative tumor that is Halloween Kills; it still manages to remarkably bring some fairly subversive conceptualization into the very tired franchise fold...even if it debatably doesn't fully utilize said subversive concepts by the time the climax rolls around. Ends dialogue is also thankfully not as bad as Kills; especially when considering the hammily forced likes of "EviL DiES ToNighT!" But the written lines here are still somewhat odd and hamfisted...with certain chatacters outright explaining the movies themes to the audience because NBC Universal thinks we're stupid. Which is honestly a fair assertion as they own the Minions and people keep buying Minion stuff en masse. But I digress. On a positive note, although Kills definitely threw off the rhythm in terms of Lauri Strodes re-rebooted chatacter arc...Halloween (2018) and Ends, by there own merits, provide a surprisingly fitting beginning, and eponymous end, to the Laurie Strode story; with Jamie Lee Curtis being owed a fair bit of gratitude for sticking with this perpetually sinking ship of a franchise. ALL that said however, please (please) understand that my somewhat satisfied review of this film does not translate into to me wanting to see more of Michael Myers pasty William Shatner face. Seriously, if we get a Halloween movie that has nothing to do with Michael Myers in the next five years...it will be firm mathematical proof that we are progressing as a society.
