Sleep-inducing. This was difficult to get through, I could not wait for it to be over. I'm in awe at how bad this was. Maybe I shouldn't be, considering that there are many awful Halloween movies, but this was bad in such a bizarre, specific way that I'm not articulate enough to describe. Like, they really thought they did something here, didn't they? Corey Cunningham is one of the lamest characters I've ever seen in anything. The entire movie is deeply, deeply lame. It's embarrassingly lame. I can't believe that 90% of the movie is about him. Absolutely baffling choice. And it ultimately feels like it doesn't matter? At all? The end of the movie is the only decent part but it feels completely disconnected from everything that came before it.
Who is this for? I can't imagine this is what anyone wanted from the big finale of this franchise (obviously it won't actually be the last Halloween movie but it's being advertised that way and might be the last one for a while). Yeah, I get it, they're trying something new. But just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. I was so excited for this trilogy after the 2018 Halloween movie. What the hell happened? Did David Gordon Green and the writers only have a solid idea for the first movie but they/the studio decided to stretch it into a trilogy because money? Or was the first movie just a fluke or what? Either way, fuck this bewildering movie. The kills weren't even good! The insane gore was THE redeeming factor of Halloween Kills and this movie has almost none, it cuts away for so many of the kills! Insane choices all around. No idea what anyone behind this was thinking.
