Labor and Public Employees Committee, Connecticut General Assembly
The Labor and Public Employees Committee is a joint standing committee of the Connecticut General Assembly and contains members of the Senate and the House. In the Connecticut Legislature, there are no separate chamber committees.

Per each chamber's rules, committees of the Connecticut General Assembly are assigned by the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House. Committees are assigned by the fifth regular session day of the first year of the term.[1][2] The President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and the majority and minority leaders of the Senate and the House are considered ex officio members of all committees.[3]

Function
“ | A committee on LABOR AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES that shall have cognizance of all matters relating to (A) the Labor Department, (B) workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, conditions of employment, hours of labor, minimum wages, industrial safety, occupational health and safety, labor unions and labor disputes, and (C) conditions of employment of state and municipal employees and the substantive law of state and municipal employees' collective bargaining.[4][5] | ” |
