Biography

Lisa Seminara was born in Harrison, New York, and lives in Avon, Connecticut. Seminara graduated from Harrison High School in New York in 1986. She earned a bachelor's degree from St. John's University in 1990 and a graduate degree in social work from Columbia University in 1992. Her career experience includes working as a licensed clinical social worker. She founded the Avon Special Education Parent Association. Seminara previously served on the Avon Board of Education.[1][2][3]

Lisa Seminara is a Republican elected member of the Avon Board of Education, licensed clinical social worker and dedicated long time community servant. Lisa was the first in her family to earn a college degree, graduating with honors from Saint John's University and later earning a master's degree from Columbia University. Lisa married her husband, Nick and moved to Connecticut 28 years ago. They have three children.

She founded the Avon Special Education PTA and served as an officer for many years. Lisa also started a non-profit and with other community members funded and developed a parcel of land into a fully accessible playground and park that they donated to the town of Avon.

  • Build an affordable Connecticut for everyone through lower taxes, fewer regulations and a robust business climate.
  • Defend local control of education and zoning.
  • Expand resources to address the continuing mental health crisis.
