Biography
Flexer's professional experience includes working as a Legislative Aide to Senate President Pro Tempore Donald Williams. She is a member of the Access Agency Board of Directors, Northeast Communities Against Substance Abuse Board of Directors, and a parishioner with Saint James Church.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Mae Flexer was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while John French was unopposed in the Republican primary. Flexer defeated French in the general election.[4][5]

Flexer ran in the 2012 election for Connecticut House of Representatives District 44. Flexer ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012. She defeated Harold Reeves (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6][7][8]

Flexer ran for re-election to the 44th District seat in 2010. She defeated Michael Struzik (R) in the November 2 general election.

On November 4, 2008, Flexer won election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 44th District, defeating Angeline Kwasny (R). Flexer received 6,015 votes in the election while Kwasny received 2,879 votes.[9] Flexer raised $30,726 for her campaign; Kwasny raised $2,440.[10]
