Sometime between 22 BBY and 19 BBY[2] during the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic targeted the Aurora fuel tanker of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Launching a mock attack against the tanker, the Republic dispatched a squadron of Venator-class Star Destroyers to a star system to engage the Aurora, which the government hoped would draw out the battleship known as the Starcrusher. However, the Aurora was able to flee from the star system and the Republic Star Destroyers before the battleship could be lured into the engagement.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The attack on the Aurora was mentioned in the thirty-fourth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[1] published around August 26, 2015.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the infiltration on the Starcrusher was introduced in The Clone Wars: The Starcrusher Trap, the sixth installment of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars graphic novellas, authored by Mike W. Barr, illustrated by the Fillbach Brothers, and published by Dark Horse Comics[4] on July 27, 2011.[5]
