Upturn's is a department store owned and named after its founder, Lady Upturn. It appears in the episodes "Upturn Girls" and "UpWard."
Description[]
Exterior[]
Upturn's is a large white skyscraper with dozens of windows and gold accents. The front door is a golden automatic sliding door with the store name placed on a large purple seashell.
Interior[]
Inside, the store is littered with gold, chandeliers, and fancy rugs, with the walls covered in paintings and advertisements, including some of Lady Upturn and King Neptune. The various floors are filled with different departments, with a perfume department named "Upturn'd Nose" on floor 2, a clothing department with mannequins in Lady Upturn's likeness on floor 3, and a shoe department on floor 10. Due to the sheer size of the store, there are numerous escalators and elevators in place, with two elevators (both normal and VIP) going to the store's roof.

"Upturn Girls"[]
During Pearl and Narlene's day out on the big city, they decide to visit Upturn's. Narlene is fascinated by the store's automatic door and accidentally rips it off, catching the ire of Lady Upturn, who is squished by the door. Pearl apologizes for Narlene's behavior and shows Lady Upturn her father's diamond unlimited credit card, causing her to let them off with a warning that the store takes shopping very seriously.
Pearl and Narlene soon go to the perfume department, where Narlene is put off by the fancy scents and uses her own toadstool tang perfume, causing a massive stink cloud that drives everyone out. The two then try on some clothes, before going to a sale at the shoe department. Narlene's dislike for shoes causes her foot to rip up a stiletto, causing the shoe manager to realize that the two are the wanted ruffians, and pulls the alarm.
As Pearl and Narlene try to escape, they are cornered by the security guards and Lady Upturn. Pearl tries to apologize, but Lady Upturn doesn’t care, telling them that they will never shop at Upturn's again. Pearl and Narlene escape to the store's rooftop as Upturn and the guards give chase, where Lady Upturn comments that Narlene is especially unwelcome. This remark causes Pearl to stick up for Narlene and call Lady Upturn a snob, before using Narlene's gum to try and escape.
The guards manage to grab Narlene's foot and stop their escape, but Pearl throws her credit card off the building to distract them, causing the guards and Lady Upturn to plunge all the way to the street below in pursuit, where Lady Upturn manages to get the card.
"UpWard"[]
During Squidward's rise to fame, he is seen exiting Upturn's in a fancy outfit.
Trivia[]
- Some of the paintings in Upturn's are of Roh and Rea, Lady Upturn's cabin roommates from Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years.
- There are some paintings in the shoe department depicting a fancy Incidental 92C, with one painting being him shaking Lady Upturn's hand.
- The reason many of the employees are anchovies is that Lady Upturn demanded complete conformity in style, so that she wouldn't have to learn any of their faces or names.[1]
