Poseidon Elementary School is a local elementary school in Bikini Bottom. Mr. Krabs and Plankton attended the school when they were juveniles. It appears in the episodes "Friend or Foe," "The Clam Whisperer," and "Dirty Bubble Returns."

About[]

Description[]

Poseidon Elementary School has a shape of a ship turned upside down with the top being red and the bottom being black. It has a set of double doors and five windows on it. The school's name is written on the top section in orange.

Role in series[]

"Friend or Foe"[]

Mr. Krabs and Plankton were both laughing stocks at this school, primarily to class bullies led by Incidental K1. Mr. Krabs was called Rag Boy because he actually wore cloths and rags, and Plankton was made fun of for being diminutive yet intelligent and because he was Mr. Krabs' friend. Mr. Krabs and Plankton viewed their experience at the school negatively.

The kids of this school go to a local burger joint called Stinky Burgers, owned by the man Stinky. Stinky liked all of his kids, except for Mr. Krabs and Plankton, for the same shallow reasons as the children of Billy's gang. A teacher could be seen, but he was not teaching any lessons nor stopping other students from teasing Mr. Krabs or Plankton.

Following the closure of Stinky Burgers that led Mr. Krabs and Plankton to invent their own burgers that eventually sparked the beginning of their rivalries, all kids at this school, including Billy, eventually warmed up with Mr. Krabs for his success of creating the Krabby Patty, while Plankton, whose Chum Burger failed, vowed to uncover Krabs' Krabby Patty recipe.

Trivia[]

  • The school's name is a reference to the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, who is also a character in the franchise. He is most commonly refferred to as King Neptune, which is his Roman name.
    • It also references the ship SS Poseidon in the 1972 movie The Poseidon Adventure which is a movie about a ship that flips upside-down. This is further evidence by the fact that the school resembles an overturned boat.
