Clu Clu Land (JP) is a video game released on the NES in 1984. It stars the red, sphere-like protagonist CLU CLU, who gets around by grabbing poles, swinging around them, then letting go to change directions. There was also a port to the e-Reader called Clu Clu Land-e.

Gameplay[]
The objective of the game is to guide Bubbles around a watery maze to collect all of the treasures that await her finding. The most important items in the game are the golden ingots, which are required to progress through it. You also must the avoid Uniras, who hid and are trying to defend the gold. You can shoot shock waves with the A or B button, which can stun the Uniras and then allow you to crush them against of the walls. Occasionally, items such as fruit and clocks will appear when you cross a certain spot.

Remakes/Ports[]
This game was also remade for the Nintendo VS. System as Vs. Clu Clu Land, and that game was later released on the Famicom Disk System. In the GameCube version of Animal Crossing, both the normal and the Disk System versions are playable, using one of the respective NES items. Besides the loosely-related DK: King of Swing games, there hasn't been a real sequel. Vs. Clu Clu Land, titled simply as Clu Clu Land, was later released onto Arcade Archives on June 28, 2019.

- Bubbles is a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
- Uniras are items in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- This is one of the 16 games included in NES Remix.
- Bubbles appears in DK: King of Swing as a playable character, since the game was similar in design.
- The sprite for the golden ingots was re-used in The Legend of Zelda for Rupees, and one of the bosses highly resembled a Unira.
- Clu Clu Land style microgames appear frequently in the WarioWare series.
- Bubbles and Unira appear as Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
