The Wytte family is one of the known family of witches in Hooky. They are renown for their wealth and power, and are a well-known family in the witching community, and to some extent the non-magical community as well. Hans Wytte is the current head of the family, and his youngest son Dorian is the heir, superseding his older brother Damien following his estrangement.

History[]

Not much is information is given about the Wytte family in the story, though we are given some details occasionally. It is a patriarchal dynasty - as seen by Hans becoming heir over his older sister Hilde, and as seen by Dorian becoming heir over his older sister Dani. Hans likely assumed the position of head of the family either when he became of age or when his own father passed. They own both Wytte castle and Wytte Manor, and both households seem fully staffed with servants and guards.

It seems that prior to Angela Wytte's attempted burning, the Wyttes hid their witch background from the local non-magical community, as Hans became worried about them being exposed after Damien accidentally transformed a child into a toad. After Hans and Angela decided to seek revenge on the non-witches, they began to kidnap and attack those who they deemed a threat. This likely spread their infamy further into the non-magical communities.

They are a very wealthy family, though it is not known how exactly they obtained this. Hans mentions that Damien's actions will lead to a "steep fall in sales," implying they are involved with a business of sorts[1]. They live quite lavishly, and have been taught in the standards of aristocracy and etiquette. As they assisted with planning the Witches School, they more than likely are the benefactors for it as well. Hilde funds the plans made by the Prison Warden, and may help fund the Floating Rock Prison.
