Mark Evans is the son of Mr. Evans and works for his father at Evans Café. He is also the former object of Dani Wytte's affections.
Appearance[]
Mark has messy black hair and sharp teal eyes. He has thick eyebrows. He is very tall, the tallest among the main protagonists. He also seems to tan easily in the sun.
Mark is considered handsome. Dani had commented that he looked like "a prince." People around his age also seem to find him attractive.
After the time skip, Mark cuts his hair and becomes more muscular. He ends up growing his hair out by the finale.
Personality[]
Mark is a generally nice person, though Nico described him as a bully. However, it was soon evident that this was simply out of jealousy and bitterness, though Mark has shown violent tendencies. Mark is admired by both Nico and Dani, along with his schoolmates. He is dependable and often helps his friends. He is, however, not very eloquent or poised and is a terrible dancer. Mark is humorous, as he made fun of Dani by pretending to not know that she hated the raisin-bread pudding he purposefully gave her, even though it was obvious. He also frequently teases Nico. He is not particularly clever but seems to be level headed in times of danger and is quite mature. Mark is bold and adventurous.
Mark greatly appreciates magic. He describes it as "cool" and is excited to go on adventures with Dani and Dorian, along with the rest. His worst nightmare even appears to be a world without magic.
He is usually tolerant but is not a doormat to those that anger him. If he is mad at them, he’ll show it normally.
History[]
Mark went to school with Nico who would eventually be his childhood friend and (to Nico only) his rival. Both being outcasts, they got along well, with Mark constantly getting teased for hanging around Nico as he was often bullied for his orange hair.
When Nico returned to school after taking a three-month break, Mark had started to get popular which caused Nico to be jealous and look down on Mark. Their friendship breaks soon after and Nico goes off to his new friends whilst Mark stays in the Evans bakery to work with his dad. Nico continues to talk behind Mark’s back, calling him and his dad scary, mean and nasty.
Story[]
Introduction arc[]
When Nico and his friends fly one of their aeroplanes, it crashes into Mr. Evans‘ bakery, frightening Nico. He is afraid of getting beat up and in trouble with Mr. Evans so he asks Dani if she could magic the plane out of there. She agrees on a condition and Nico gladly accepts.
Powers and Abilities[]
Mark does not have any magical abilities whatsoever however he does enjoy magic and its fundamental uses.
Strength[]
Mark is one of the more physically capable people in the main cast, usually carrying many items at the cafe he works in and helping with repair work when some homes were destroyed. He also saved some people when they were about to be crushed by falling debris before the time skip.
Cooking[]
Being the son of a baker had some advantages. Mark is known to be a good cook amongst the group and is mentioned making good soups and even a second course when Dani couldn’t cook.
Driving[]
Mark is one of the only people in the main cast that can drive, being the driver of the group when they used a van to camp.

Main characters[]
- Dani Wytte: He is Dani's crush but is unaware of it, though he seems to be more like an older brother to her. However, they are good friends and care for each other. Due to a potion Dani made, he briefly tried to kill her, but its effect has faded. He came to rescue Dani when she was about to be burnt. He comforts her and tells her he's proud of her. Dani in turn saved him from the sirens. They are quite close. However, after she becomes queen, she does not seem to remember him.
- Dorian Wytte: Dorian was distrustful of Mark at the beginning and disapproved of Dani's crush on him on account of her "being too young". However, they soon become close friends. Mark takes a keen interest in Dorian's adventures. He helps Dorian in his plot to make Dani use magic again. He is the one to search for Dorian after his disappearance and is relieved when they rescue him.
- Nico: Nico is Mark's best friend, and like a younger brother to him. Nico considers them to be rivals and aims to surpass Mark as he was jealous of him. Despite their misunderstandings, Nico greatly admires Mark. The two of them grew up together and Mark cares for Nico like his own family. He does not protest when Nico asks to live with him. He appears to want the best for Nico, and they a really undeniably close.
- Monica: Monica and Mark are not particularly close though they seem to trust each other due to being close with the same people. As royalty, she looked down on him as a commoner. However, they now appear to be good friends. Mark was Monica’s dance partner during the stage when Monica returned to the castle, much to Nico’s pleasure, and she volunteered to train him. However, she admits that she prefers Nico to Mark. She wholeheartedly supported Dani in her crush on him and was partly responsible for feeding him the love potion. She now however supports Nico more than Mark as the series progressed.
- Aisha: Mark and Aisha aren't very close in the beginning. However, during the three years Dorian's gone they spend more time with each other and become much closer. After the time skip, they seem to have a great relationship and you somewhat get the sense that they might even like each other. Nothing is confirmed, nor have either of them said anything about their feelings for one another. Though they're both very protective of each other and they're usually blushing a lot around the other person (which most likely means they like each other).
- Mr. Evans: Evans is Mark's father. He is quite strict with his son and makes him work hard. Mark seems to fear him and obeys him without question.
- Ivy: He seems to respect her seeing as they are in the same friend group however he did not enjoy her advances on him. He also seems to be slightly afraid of her, obeying her order to drive faster when they almost stopped.
- Anne: Like Ivy, Mark seems to respect her but they don't interact very often by themselves so it’s hard to tell what Mark exactly thinks of Anne.
- Amir: Mark most likely respects Amir though doesn‘t enjoy his lazy attitude.

Trivia[]
- Mark’s skin tans when under the sun for a while. This is shown when they venture out to the desert.
- Mark is not very good at academics, failing in school a couple of times to the point he might have had to retake a year or two.
- He does not enjoy posh activities or balls, wanting to escape from Monica’s castle and go to town.
- His worst nightmare was a world without magic which was ironic considering he cannot perform any magic.
- He has a cabin in the woods where the group stays after the ball.
