Phil's Island is the home of the great trainer of heroes: Philoctetes.
The island is where early heroes such as Achilles, Perseus, Odysseus, and Jason trained to become heroes, only to end as failures. The only exception is Phil's star pupil, Hercules, who goes on to become the greatest hero in Ancient Greece.

Trivia[]
- This island is implied to be the city of Rhodes. Remnants of a giant statue believed to be the Colossus of Rhodes can be seen scattered around the island, though the film's statue does not resemble popular depictions of the god, Helios. On a side note, the Colossus of Rhodes appears in the animated series outside of Phil's island and is in perfect shape before Hercules destroys it.
- In the Animated Storybook, Phil's Island was named Idra.
