"Hercules and the Twilight of the Gods" is the thirty-third episode of Hercules: The Animated Series.
Summary[]
While training with Phil on how to fight giants, Hercules is offered a temp position with the Norse pantheon by Loki as a new Thunder God when Thor is unable to perform his duties. But Loki is planning to use this opportunity to begin Ragnarok and awakens Fenrir and the Frost Giants to attack Asgard and the gods. Hercules must stop Loki and the coming of Ragnarok, and save Thor and Odin.

- Garrison Keillor, who voiced Odin, was best known as the creator and host of Minnesota Public Radio's "A Prairie Home Companion".
- Vince Vaughn, who voiced Loki, was born in Minneapolis.
- Jorgen Svenson and Sven Jorgenson speak with stereotypical Minnesotan accents.
- Loki is made the brother of Thor and son of Odin, similar to Marvel Comics, instead of being Odin's "blood brother" like in Norse mythology. Though the only difference is that Loki is biologically related to them as opposed to being adopted.
- Hero Rule 9: "Giants are dumb", is a reference to the importance to the number 9 in Norse mythology, including the Nine Realms that make up the universe.
- The scene of the Giants marching in the direction of Mount Olympus instead of Asgard is based on the Titans marching in the opposite direction of Olympus from the original film.
