Veterans' Affairs Committee, Connecticut General Assembly
The Veterans' Affairs Committee is a joint standing committee of the Connecticut General Assembly, containing members of the Senate and the House. In the Connecticut Legislature, there are no separate chamber committees. Prior to 2013, it was a select committee.
Per each chamber's rules, committees of the Connecticut General Assembly are assigned by the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House. Committees are assigned by the fifth regular session day of the first year of the term.[1][2] The President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and the majority and minority leaders of the Senate and the House are considered ex officio members of all committees.[3]
