Coffee Lovers Hop

Day 5 of the Coffee Lovers Hop

I started with a oval cut sponged panel, and the cup from Stampin Up stamp set, Perfect Blend, which I colored with Copics.  I white embossed a sentiment from  Hero Arts A Little stamp set on vellum, and adhered it over the top of the coffee cup.

How are your coffee cards coming along?  I'm sure having fun :)

Just Us Girls Challenge #511 - Photo Inspiration Week

Pretty Fall photo, right?

Yep, its that time of year with all the Fall colors.  Do you get the Fall colors where you live?  Here in Arizona where I live, not so much.  Boring brown.  That said, I do like seeing the online inspiration in blogland.

For my card today I used some Hero Arts products [all retired, sorry], along with a couple of Heartfelt Creations products; Oakberry Lane Blossoms stamp set, along with the matching dies. I used the Joseph's Coat Technique for my background. I started with a script background [SU!], and went from there.

I had every intention of coloring the flowers, but thought they looked okay with just gold embossing.  What do you think?

Okay, your turn.  How does the photo inspire you?  Come on over to JUGS Challenge and play along.

Just Us Girls Challenge #503 - Wild Card Week

I used one of Stampin Ups older sets, Perfect Blend.

Just Us Girls #488 - Color Week

You just need to pick 3 colors.

My friend [hi Ronnie!] and I were playing with Jennifer McGuire's Water Color Swiping, and I made a bunch of backgrounds.  [This technique is so easy, and of course, a lot of fun!]

I used a couple of the colors, and finished off with the coloring of my flowers.

I used an old Stampin Up set, Embrace Life.  Such a classy set, and worked perfectly for my card.

Your turn - come on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge #488, and play along!  Any of these colors are quite lovely when used together.

Just Us Girls #486 - Word Week

I kind of struggled with this word, but then I remembered my dancing girl stamp.  Yeah, that worked.

I rather like this dancing girl :).  I subtly colored her, and the red hat was for that pop of color.

Your turn -- come on over to the  Just Us Girls Challenge and play along.  How do you see movement?

Just Us Girls #405 - Word Week

This is going to be a fun week with all the "shower" cards.

For my choice, I went with a baby card since I have a shower to go to next week. :)

Isn't this fun?!  I love it actually.  I cut that big B with my Silhouette, and used MFT Emmit Alphabet die-namics, for the other letters.  My friend is having a boy, so big B, blue B and baby - perfect :).  The tiny feet are from Stampin Up [retired].

How do you see shower?  Whatever way, come on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge and play along!  I'm looking forward to the interpretations :).

Just Us Girls #388 - Trend Week

Multi-step stamping is definitely a trend out here in blogland.  While I love the look, I really don't have any "new" sets to use. However, I do have a really, really old Stampin Up set that worked perfectly :).

Yeah, yeah, yeah I could of used my MISTI, but I do like the off stamped look too.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to Just Us Girls Challenge #388, and play along!

2 Actual Challenges!

It has been fooooooorevvvvvvvvvvvvvvver since I joined in a challenge!  That said, I decided I was going to find at least one to play in.

Fortunately, I found 2! CAS(E) This Sketch #212, and CAS Mix Up.  [It really does help me with missing mojo by using a sketch.] - Well, let's call it 3 as this qualifies for Inkspirational Challenge #130; smooshing.

Now, this card might not be CAS enough [for either challenge], but that's okay.  The sketch gave me the base, and CAS Mix enabled me to play with a few techniques.  I started with a smooshed background using my Distress inks.  This time, I dried the inks in between the smooshing so I would end up with layered ink.  Yep, that worked.  I went on to cut letters [MFT By The Letters] in D2BA designer paper and adhered them on to some cut out fun foam for dimension.  Yep, that worked too.  And finally, I finished off the card with a cut out word from STAMPlorations It's All About You, and SU's coffee cup from Perfect Blend, with a paper pieced sleeve.  Overall, I am okay with this card :).

I'm off~ I had loads of fun.  Thanks Challenges!

It's time again for the SCS Color Challenge.  This week Mary has 5 colors - you may use them all, or pick a minimum of 3, with a dessert of a Fall scene.

I chose Old Olive, Real Red and Tangelo Twist.  I made 1/2 a Fall scene. ;)  I used Stampin Up, Lovely As A Tree, and a sentiment from Inspired By Stamping, Water Color Sentiments.

What colors are inspiring you?  Come on over to the SCS Color Challenge #603 and show us!  We look forward to seeing what you create.

Verve May Inspiration

I partook in the Verve May Inspiration Hop and was highly inspired by Julee's card, (and of course, the inspiration photo).  So much so, that I had to join in!

While I did not use any Verve stamps [my bad], I did use one of Verve's previous sketches.  I thought my SU coffee cup went well with the water coloring, the metal embellishment, and of course my ink sprayed background. [I seriously am in love with ink sprays!]

A fabulous creative day!  Thanks Verve - it was fun!

Dies R Us Challenge #41

I saw the challenge over at Dies R Us #41; stitching, and had to play.

You could use faux or real stitiching.  I went real and used my gold thread.  I do have to say sewing by hand is really relaxing [but time consuming].  However, I think the final effect was worth my time.  I used Avery Elle Brushed for the sentiment, and a really, really old Stampin Up background stamp, Victorian Lace.

Coffee Loving Papercrafters Hop

It's that fun time again for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Hop hosted by our friend, Amy Tsuruta and her new team!

I used a retired cup image, and of course my background is a SU classic; Lovely As a Tree.

When I heard it was a holiday/Winter hop I went searching Pinterest and came up with this inspiration photo;

Isn't this a lovely photo?  I thought it was perfect for my card.

Because I am done with Christmas cards, I thought this was appropriate for my friend's December birthday. There is a theme of a snowy scene and a nice "friendly" appeal that worked well for my card.

Are you joining in over at the Holiday Coffee Lover's Hop?  You should, there are a ton of sponsors!  I sure hope to win~ :)

Hero Arts Holiday Challenge

Gosh it seems like a long time since I have joined in a challenge.  Today, I got Hero Arts Holiday challenge in my email and decided, yep, I can get behind this challenge!

Just a sweet little card :)

Oh what the heck, I went on to play along in Kelly Latevola's challenge of CASEing a Genius.  I had to pick my PNW buddy, Amy Tsuruta.  I chose this card of her's;

I basically changed the stamps, but kept the same layout.  I have only used this SU Perfect Blend set twice [what!] and figured since Amy=coffee, this set was ideal :).

Super fun challenge Kelly!  Great idea~

Challenges!

Finally, I used my Brushos in a way that I was actually happy with!  I struggle, but practice, practice, practice~

I am entering this card into Stamp Ink Paper #9, a perfect sketch, along with Color Throwdown #355; gorgeous color combo!  Plus, I was totally inspired by Broni's card.

I used shell images from Stampin Up from 2000 [nice and new stamps lol], along with a sentiment from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2.  AND SEE, do you love the Brusho background?  I SO DO!  Looks like water, and I adore how vivid these powders turn out when spritzed with water.
