A Fun Day

I had some free time, so naturally, I headed into my stamp room.  I looked up on Paper Playful for some challenges to join in.  Once again, PP comes through with new [to me] challenges.

I started with the Color Throwdown #817 colors, while using the sketch [new to me] from Atlantic Hearts Sketch #601.

I was rather happy with this end result.  These colors are just lovely, and the sketch brought them together in a unique way.
================================================
I came across Diane and Darlene's Stencil Fun Challenge for October, w/ an option of Halloween. [The player-ship is amazing for the site!]  Perfect for my [favorite] moon stencil!

I made a tag and temporarily adhered it onto a sponged, inked, textured background [with H colors too], for a gift Halloween card.  I was surprised how much I liked the colorful background with the purple tag.  It sure does scream Halloween to me.

Thanks Challenges - I had a fun time 😀

Just Us Girls Challenge #701 - Word Week

Tis the time of year for these round cuties!

I made a "gift" card - [tag is removable].

I used some washi tape on the background panel, inked up my tag, after stamping and masking the pumpkin, added some clouds, bats, and finally the sentiment.

I'm kinda thrilled with this Halloween gift card.  Hopefully the recipient is too.

Your turn,  Come on over to JUGS #701 and play along!

Addicted to CAS Challenge - Mushroom

I'll be honest, I really had to look for a mushroom image - but yay, I found one!  It is from an OOB company, but it still worked!

I sponged on ink, stamped the image, and lastly, cut it out with a really dated Spellbinders Label 4 die.

I used a sentiment from the same stamp set, and adhered that onto the focal image.  I am happy I found this image, and I am also happy with the end result~

Addicted to CAS Challenge - Freedom

I love using eagles for a freedom card.  They are so regal, and don't even require any coloring! 😉

Isn't he just awesome!  I do love these stunning birds.  [Image from an old MFP stamp set]

He also works beautifully for a CAS card!

Your turn!  Check out what the team created for more "avenues" of freedom.  Then, upload your card to  Addicted to CAS Challenge.

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Wheels

For this challenge, I went a diggin!  I found this really fun truck [with wheels] and yep, it worked!

It's an old MFP image.  I debated on what color it should be, and then thought, yeah, blue works.  We do have a trucker friend, so this card will.be.perfect.!

The HB is from Woodware, Word Fragments.

Your turn.  Lots of ways to use wheels on your card, or if not, just make a birthday card and play along over at Seize the Birthday.

Freshly Made Sketches #580

I needed a last minute Easter card - since today is Easter - for my DH.  I figured the perfect time to play in a challenge [it's been a minute!], and Freshly Made Sketches #580 filled the bill!

I wanted to play around with some different patterned dp and this sketch was perfect for that.  The rest of the images are all from out of business companies.  Might as well use what I have.

I do think the bunny is cute, and rather realistic.

Thanks FMS - your sketch worked perfectly!

Addicted to CAS Challenge #235 - Garden

This time of year is the beginning of growing your garden.  How perfect is this code word?

For the background of my shaker window I grabbed a painted panel from my stash and went to work to recycle it.  I started with using a new-to-me embossing folder from Simon Says, Floral Festoon.  Once that was done, I just kept sponging on ink until I got the shading I wanted.  It looks like designer paper to me, so yay to me, job well done. 😉

I used a few unbranded dies for added decoration to the oval frame I cut out.  The sentiment is from an OOB business.

Your turn!  Come on over to Addicted to CAS Challenge and play along!

The gallery is going to be lovely!

CAS on Friday Guest Designer

I am so happy to start the new year being a Guest Designer for CAS on Friday #248; Insects.  I have often said, I adore this challenge site, so, it's fun to get to join the team!

I first thought of a dragonfly, but then decided a butterfly is a prettier "insect".  I started with a cut tag, stenciled on some dots, stamped some background lines, and added a couple of leaf stickers that I have.

Once that was done, I stamped, fussy cut out, and colored a couple of butterflies [OOB company].  I adhered them [just in the center] onto the tag, and finally, added a cut sentiment strip.  I did use an embossing folder for a subtle embossed background panel also.

That's it for me.  I hope you pop on over to the CAS on Friday Challenge #248 and join in the fun!

Meanwhile, CAS on Friday, thanks for having me!  I enjoyed making my card.

A Couple of Challenges

I had some free time, so I thought I would play in a couple of challenges that came in my email.  I'll start off with the sketch from Sunday Stamps #280.

I grabbed an inked panel from my stash, cut it to the desired sketch, and added a layered butterfly.

To finish off this card, I added a Simon Says sentiment strip.  Super fun sketch that I enjoyed using.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I went on to be inspired by the AAA Card #212 Challenge; Along the Edge & Your Country. This challenge was perfect!  My step son is retiring from the Air Force - 20 years - and is having a party.  What better opportunity for a patriotic card!

I used some images from an out of business company that worked perfectly!  Sponging on the red and blue let's you know what country too.

Yep, I am looking forward to giving this to him.  I bet he loves it!

I had a great time playing in these challenges.  Thanks!

Playing in a Couple of Challenges

Since I am caught up for the month, I wanted to join in a couple of challenge; AAA#211 CAS & Animal, and The Male Room #160; Animals.

While my bunny is singular, I'm hoping it still qualifies for The Male Challenge.  It's definitely a masculine card...

I would tell you where the image is from, but both companies used are out of business.

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

Addicted to CAS Challenge #203 - Rain

I have had this "water" stamp for probably a year.  Finally, I decided this was the challenge to use it.

I used a stamp set from an OOB.  The image and sentiment goes so well with the Local King Dew Stamp, and of course, this challenge.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Addicted to CAS Challenge and show us how you see rain. :)

Just Us Girls Challenge #574 - Word Week

For this weeks challenge, I went to my older stamps and came up with this stunning image!

I love this tiger in the simple black and white [I did color the eyes green for pop]

Easy 10 minute card for my DH's birthday!

Your turn.  What animal comes to mind for you?  Come on over to JUGS and show us!
