Just Us Girls Challenge #747 - Color Week

This is an interesting combo!  I can't wait to see the gallery.

I inked up a panel, and then cut with a smaller cover plate.  I also used the colors on the coloring of the image.

The sentiment is from Altenew, Label Love.

Your turn!  We hope you come on over and play along with use at Just Us Girls Challenge #747!

So Much Fun Challenges

It's been a long time [again] since I joined in any challenges [besides DT work anyway].  I found some time, I thought let's see what out here in blogland.  I came up with 2.

I don't think I have ever joined in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge before [maybe last year?] - When I saw the photo, I also saw my Altenew stamp set, Beautiful Heart, in my cupboard! (Of course, it is retired), but it worked perfectly for this challenge.

September 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Yep, it is a layered stamp set, that I must say, only took me 1 time to get it lined up! [Oh yay for me 😀] I'm not sure how close you have to be in colors from the inspiration photo, but I wanted more of a contrast with the flower depth so I used some red.  I'm going with this anyway.

I used a lovely embossing folder to replicate the leaves in the photo, and white embossed the sentiment.  Overall, I am happy with this card.

Great inspiration Altenew - Thanks.

===================================================

I went on to play along with my favorite, ATC Around the World Challenge #117; Everything Wears a Hat.  Going to my Tim Holtz stash of stamp sets, I found the perfect image from the  Cling Stamp Set Curious Possibility.

I sponged on ink, stamped images, used some stenciling, and lastly, used an embossing strip for some texture to create this fun ATC.

I will either punch a tag hole and add twine, or attach this to a card base for future use.  I love making ATC's - I just never know what the heck to do with them.

Fun challenge - thanks ATC Around the World.  I missed you.

Just Us Girls Challenge #742 - CASE a DT Week

I was fortunate enough to win/purchase a goodie box from Laura Bassen a couple of weeks ago. [Yes, I was so excited to "win" one!]  It was FILLED, I'm telling you FILLED to the brim, of stamps, dies,  hot foil plates, stencils...I can honestly say, I was overwhelmed!  All that said, today's card is made from a few of those goodies.

I started with a mini slimline base. [This is still my favorite size ever]. Using Pink Fresh Hot Foil Geo Blocks Plate and some gold foil, I made a smaller panel. [As of this writing, this plate is on sale for only $12!]  I went on to stamp and cut out Altenew's Cupped Flowers Complete Bundle.  On a side note here - I will be honest this was my 5th (!) attempt at getting these stamps lined up! [Yeah, I won't rush to use this set again. It was entirely too frustrating]

Lastly, I used Pink Fresh's Scripted Sentiment Hot Foil Plate for my sentiment and the matching die to cut it out.

Overall, this card is okay.  I don't care for the colors of the flowers [and leaves for that matter], but I was done trying to get this card up to my standard [4.5 hours was enough time spent!].  I did mail this one to Laura BTW.  (I'm still questioning that decision 😏)

I hope you try to CASE this card.  The overall is easy to copy. Please pop on over to JUGS #742, check out the other team member's cards, pick one, and play along!  It really is fun for us to see your take.

Different Sketches

I've been getting into kind of a sketch slump - my card layouts are are looking the same to me, so, I am joining in a couple of sketch challenges.

Let's start with Just Add Ink #702:

Here is the sketch;

Here is my card:

I am trying to use products that haven't seen the light of day for awhile.  Therefore, I used the fun [and naturally retired 😕] Cottage Cutz Nested Stitched Eyelet Rectangle set for the inner panels.

I grabbed my retired PTI Turning a New Leaf stamp set [with matching dies], and a sentiment from Altenew Label Love.

======================================

I went on to use Freshly Made Sketches #636.  I really enjoy Cecile's sketches.  They are very inspiring to me.

Here is their sketch:

Here is my card:

Again, using unused products, I grabbed some washi tape for the inner panel, and just matched card stock colors to that for the framing.

The sentiment is from Altenew's Watercolor Halftone.

Thanks Challenges - I so enjoyed the sketches~

Thank You & Challenges

Today I am playing in 3 challenges with my card; CAS Colors & Sketches #533 - sketch, Color Hues #83; cream & blue, and [new to me] Try It On Tuesday - use a stencil.

I used stenciling for the sketch, and Altenew Leaf Canopy stamp set [and dies] for the images and sentiment.

I used the blue and cream colors for Color Hues.  I must say, these challenges blended well. 😀

Thanks Challenges for the motivation.  I had fun creating~

Just Us Girls Challenge #716 - CASE a DT Week

Personally, I love CASEing fellow creators cards.  We are hoping that you will enjoy picking one of our DT cards and CASEing them!

For my card, I went with a shaker card.  I did an inked blended background, stamped the image [Altenew, Hennah Elements] and embossed it in gold. I added dimensioned flowers over the stamped image, and finally, I adhered a sentiment. Once all that was done, separately I made a frame, attached some acetate, added some sequins and small beads, and adhered that over the top of the panel.

WA LA! Card is complete.

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS Challenge #716, pick a Design Team Member to CASE, and go to town!  Be sure to let us know who you are CASEing.

Geometrical

I played today in the Color Throwdown Challenge #774; blue, olive, ivory.  Gotta love those blues and greens 😉, throw in some ivory, and I'm a happy stamper.

I went geometrical.  Again, needing many masculine cards, this fits in well for my stash.  The colors are perfect for the guys too.

The sentiment is from Altenew Label Love.  [I am SHOCKED, I'm tellin you, SHOCKED, that this set is actually still available! It is such a classic set.]   I love the white print with the black background.  [I used Versafine Black Ink to get it that solid of stamping.]

Wasn't in the mood to create anything else.  That said, Thanks CTD - loved the color combo!

ATC and Tag

Playing with the Gecko Galz images yesterday, reminded me that they also have a monthly ATC Challenge.  You need to use their [free] images - that worked for me!

They had a few "background" bases, I used 2, and a few "person" images, I used 1.  I'm telling you, I am seriously having fun with the "faux" snow!  It gives such a great holiday feel to whatever you create!

-----------------------------------------
I went on to join in [for a first time ever] the Altenew December Ultimate Inspiration Challenge.  They offered a free digital, so I used that with a fun spotlighting effect.

I really complicated this tag.  Rather then just making it a shaker, I cut out a hexagon shape [for the spotlighting], colored it [with Copics], and was going to use dimension tape to lift it up. I didn't like that look, so I ended up making it a shaker.  It would of been much easier to just color the actual spotlighted portion on the tag... oh well.  I ended up putting it on a card base as my friend reads, so now she will have a bookmark.

Because this is a really CAS card, I am entering it into the CAS on Friday Challenge #272, Black, White, + One Color.

Thanks Challenges - I had a good day.

AAA Birthday Challenge #54 - Favorite Colors

The gallery should be awesome seeing everyone's favorite colors!

As far as my colors go, I adore green and blue.  There are other color combos I like, but these 2 - yep they are my go to.

I used MFT [retired] Emmit Alphabet.  Fun, tall, skinny letters on a mini card base - yes please. 😀

The layered florals are from a retired set from Altenew.

Your turn!  Come on over to AAA Birthday Challenge and show us your favorite colors!  We are also having a collaboration with our sister site AAA Cards.  You can read about that on the AAA Birthday Challenge blog.  Yes, there is a prize...

Happy Little Stampers October Water Color Challenge

There is nothing I enjoy more then a bright, fun card!  At first I thought to do a toucan bird, but, I went another route, using "tropical" colors.

As I was looking for some floral images, I came across this fun Altenew, Abstract Landscape Die.  I love how you can individually paint the different land/hills/sun cuts.  This worked perfectly using my Zig Kuretake Gansai Water Colors.

I grabbed a sentiment strip from Simon Says, and this fun card is complete.

Your turn.  You have all month to join in over at Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge.

Just Us Girls Challenge #678 - Color Week

Yes, you can include neutrals for this color challenge.  Good thing, since I did. 😀

I am thrilled with this card!  I used the stunning Altenew Blossom and Bloom stamp & die set.  [While I didn't use the die, it's a great addition to have.]  I did fussy cut out the 2 spotlighted colored flowers.

The hb is from an OOB company.

Your turn!  Come on over to Just Us Girls Challenge #678 and play along!  Lots of ways to use pink and yellow.
