Just Us Girls Challenge #736 - Photo/Moodboard Week

Very soft and pretty colors in this mood board.

I used the Flamingo stamp set from Inspired By Stamping, along with the sentiment.  I tried to capture the ocean frame - I kind of captured it. This cute flamingo worked well with the beach.

Your turn.  How does the mood board inspire you?  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #736 and play along.  I'm looking forward to seeing the gallery.

Just Us Girls Challenge #714 - Moodboard Week

Seriously, I think mood boards are my favorite way be inspired for creating a card.  I just love this one!

I was so inspired by the lower left photo that I made my own alcohol ink panel, and added some gold foil. [I love this look]  I grabbed my favorite Memory Box Grand Tulip Shell Die, grabbed another stashed panel, and cut out the shell.

The sentiment is retired, but so perfect for this card!

Your turn.  Show us how you are inspired from our mood board and share it over at JUGS #714.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!  This might be my last card for 2023 - [unless, I get really motivated for a random challenge].  I am joining in at Simon Says Monday Challenge; Let It Snow, and Double D Challenge Winter/ Snow Scene.

I had a crafty day at a friend's house, and made this min slimline card.  I had every intention of "faux snowing" [white splatter] this, but forgot, and then I needed a last minute card, and mailed it - BEFORE adding in the snow!  There are snowflakes, so I think (hope) it will work for both challenges.

This adorable gnome is from the Woodware set; Three Gnomes. [I love that this company still has decent stamp prices. IMO this industry is getting ridiculously pricey!] He is really easy to color too.

That's it for today, and maybe [probably] the last for 2023.  It's been a great year.  I hope you all have a fabulous holiday, and I will see you in 2024!

AAA Birthday Challenge #53 - Animals

This should be a fun gallery.  So.many.animals to use! 😉

Due to Christmas coming up, I am trying to get all the birthday cards done that I can.  My friend's birthday is in December and I like to give her card a Christmasy feel, while still being a birthday card.  I think I got it covered!

How cute are these fun friends from [OOB] Inspired By Stamping.  They make me smile.

I used a star stencil with some Ranger Texture Paste, and for the "snowy" ground.  My sentiment is from a Simon Says Sentiments Strips.

Your turn.  You have all month to join in over at AAA Birthday Challenge.

Just Us Girls Challenge #687 - Word Week

I'm not sure what I like more - beachy cards, or shells!  Either way, this week's challenge..yes, please!  I instantly grabbed my Memory Box Grande Tulip Shell.  I just love this die!

I used a water color panel I had in my stash for the inside of the shell, and lightly brown sponged the outline of the shell.  Yep, I adore this die.

For my edge of the water, I ripped some designer paper.  I love that it worked!  My sentiment is [once again] from IBS Seaside Sentiments (OOB).

Your turn!  I can't wait to see the cards in the gallery for this challenge.  You can upload your card HERE.

3 Challenges That Spoke to Me

I just love it when I get emails [from challenges] and they talk to me!  Happened with Paper Players #647; At the Beach, and Freshly Made Sketches #592 - [a fabulous sketch by my x JUGS teammate Cécile.]  I WON QUEEN!

Right?!!  I literally used the sketch as is, and I am loving this card! Geometrical, and beachy -- yep that's my kind of combination 😀

Once again I used my favorite [retired] IBS Seaside Sentiments stamp set.  [This set is getting so-much-use by me this season that I hope you aren't bored. 😉]  I'm also entering this into the Less is More Challenge #486; Anything Goes.

That's it for today - Challenges, I had a great time!

A Few Challenges

I had some time, got some interesting email challenges, and decided to play along!

I'm starting with Cut It Up #279; Tag.  This is a new challenge for me.  Since I do love making tags, it was right up my alley! - WON TOP CUT! :)

I used my favorite "sunglasses" along with a fun pair of flip flops.

The sentiment is from IBS - (OOB)

By adding the tag to a card base, I end up with a CAS card using the theme from AAA Cards #242; Everything Beach. [I am so about beachy stuff :)]

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I went on to join in Simon Says Monday Challenge; Masculine, Less is More #485; Black & Light Purple, and finally, CAS on Friday #259; Leaves.

I ran the light purple panel through my cutter, using an embossing pad so the die didn't cut, but embossed the image.  I cut out a black panel, and laid it over the top of the light purple panel.  A much easier way then trying to inlay all those crazy small pieces!

I added the sentiment on a round panel rather then a strip sentiment.  I thought the circle looked good with the background image.

Thanks Challenges!  I had so much fun creating both these projects.

A Few Challenges

I am so excited!  I found a different ATC challenge!  My old one went de-funked -  not enough players.  Anyway, this new one ATC Around the World #102, is in/by the sea.  Well I'm all in for that theme! {Winner Top 3!}

I used my crimper for a textured background, and a really old Spellbinders die with 4 different shells, and then another die set with sea creatures.  I have used both these dies a lot over the years.  I just adore the textured images.

The sentiments are from Inspired By Stamping, an OOB company.  I am also entering these into the Simon Says Monday Challenge - Not a Card.

Aren't these just fun!  I am quite happy with the end results.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I went on to join in over at the Paper Players #643 - Masculine Card. Again, right up my alley! {I got a Shout Out}

I was inspired by the lower left corner photo - the colors.

The other day I was going through some stamps and came across this fabulous HB from PTI.  [I really do need to get my inventory system completed.  It's just so o...v...e..r...w..h..e..l..m..i...n...g.]  Yep, this card scream masculine to me!

Thanks Challenges-- I had a great time creating!

Just Us Girls Challenge #680 - Photo/Mood Board Week

I am just loving this new challenge.  I have always been inspired by mood boards so this is a great addition to the line up for JUGS.  What do you think?  Do you play along?

I was inspired by the framed water color behind the couch, and the shiny in the granite rock.  These colors screamed beach to me, so there you go!

My shells are from a really [really] old Spellbinders Die.  I used some shiny foil packaging I got from [I think] Verve, to cut out the shells. I adore this color of turquoise!  The sentiment is from retired Inspired By Stamping, Seaside Sentiments.

Yep - I was inspired!  We hope you are too.  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #680, and play along.

Just Us Girls Challenge #677 - CASE a DT

This is a new JUGS challenge - It is replacing the Wild Card Week.  Easy to join in, all you have to do is pick a card from one of the team Designers, and CASE it.  The catch?  The card you choose must be from the actual post for this #677 challenge over on the JUGS blog.

Here is what I came up with.  I hope I inspire you.

The weather here in AZ is finally starting to warm up. [We had a very cold Winter for Arizona!] That said, I get to start making some beachy type cards. [They are my favorite - well, besides florals anyway. 😀]  I used the Hero Arts Fern Die [retired], and the Simon Says Let Get Away Dies for the adirondack chair.  Finally, the fun glasses?  I have no clue, but I just love these!

The sentiment is from [OOB] Inspired By Stamping, Seaside Sentiments.

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #677, and get inspired by one of the DT's cards and CASE it!  We look forward to this week's gallery!

Freshly Made Sketches #580

I needed a last minute Easter card - since today is Easter - for my DH.  I figured the perfect time to play in a challenge [it's been a minute!], and Freshly Made Sketches #580 filled the bill!

I wanted to play around with some different patterned dp and this sketch was perfect for that.  The rest of the images are all from out of business companies.  Might as well use what I have.

I do think the bunny is cute, and rather realistic.

Thanks FMS - your sketch worked perfectly!

Just Us Girls Challenge #674 - Word Week

The gallery should be bright and happy this week!

I used a retired stencil from CAS-ual Fridays for the sun, and a cloud punch for the fun clouds.

The sentiment is also a retired set from Inspired By Stamping.  A fun encouraging card :)

Your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS #674 Challenge and play along!
