SCS Color Challenge #612

It's the SCS Color Challenge time. This week the colors are Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Pool Party, with a dessert of snow.

-->

Playing in my stamp room yesterday, I tried the Color Embossing Folder  Technique.
I came up with this card;

I like the way this turned out.  It was fun to make too.  I used MFT Hand Letter Christmas stamp set for my sentiment.  I do love the font.  I am entering this into the Happy Little Stampers December CAS Challenge; Favorite Technique, and AAA CAS Game #79; Christmas.

Your turn!  Come on over to SCS and join us in this week's Color Challenge.

SCS Color Challenge #593

It's time again for the SCS Color Challenge.  This week Karen chose some new colors; Sugar Plum, Dapper Denim, Cucumber Crush, with a dessert of 2 step stamping.

-->

I have none of the colors, so I used as close as I had.  Naturally, the camera didn't like my Ranger Stream color [Dapper Denim] as it looks like a navy blue, and by the looks of it, my Ranger Raspberry is a little brighter then the Sugar Plum.  All that said, fortunately, this challenge is loose enough that you can use close to colors. :)  Good thing for me!  At least I was able to have the 2 step stamping.  I used PTI's Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie 2 [and dies], Turning a New Leaf [and dies] along with a sentiment from Think Big Favorites #4.

Come on over to the SCS Color Challenge #593, and play along!

SCS Color Challenge #579

This week over at the SCS Color Challenge, Mary has chosen awesome colors; Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Basic Grey - the dessert; masculine.  I am totally on board with this challenge!

I do adore making masculine cards - having a son, they are the perfect choice.
I used some MFT die-namics; Pierced Stars and Insta-Frame, along with a border from Simon Says Pin Point Border [retired].  Yeah, these colors do rather rock!

Come on over to the SCS Color Challenge and show up your stuff!  The gallery is going to look amazing!

Playing Dirty over at SCS

I had Monday off, and was able to play over in the SCS Dirty Challenge for February.

The central theme is uplifting and they had an inspirational photo.  So, I was able to use this card for 2 of the challenges.  I used Inspired By Stamping, Spring Lilacs, and Words of Inspiration.

I also played in the Technique Challenge; doodle around a die cut

I used the beautiful butterfly from Cherry Lynn, along with my favorite sentiment from Technique Tuesday; Fabulous.  My you die is from Simon Says.

Peggy chose some very pretty colors for this week's challenge; Cantaloupe, Pistachio and Crumb Cake, with a dessert of repetition.

I used a few Hero Arts stamps for this; Sending Smiles and Real Leaves.

Do you like the colors?  Come on over to SCS and play along, we would love for you to join in !!

SCS Color Challenge #433

For the colors this week, Kim chose Red, White and Blue w/ a dessert of celebration [I think].  To be honest, I forgot the dessert and didn't do it anyway, so I am good with that.

I didn't realize how difficult it is to photograph navy blue.  Really looks black [but it's navy, promise ;)].  I used PTI Rosie Posie with dies, and a sentiment from Verve, Making a Statement.  I really am glad I purchased Rosie Posie - I just love this set!

I hope you come over to SCS Color Challenge, and play along!  We would love to have you join in ~

SCS Challenges

I took some time today to play in a couple of SCS challenges; Mix-Ability #4 - using water, and Featured Stamper  #316; stampinandrea.

This Mix-Aability challenge is fairly new over at SCS, and it is just fun!  I am always late since I work on Fridays, but at least I took the time to play [this week]. I really love to play with water and spritzing.  While Dina showed 3 different ways of using water, she didn't show the one I love -- inking an acrylic pad, spritzing with water and stamping.  I love the effect of this!

I used an older SU set [that's all I have in SU is old ha!] Mixed Bouquet, with a sentiment from Hero Arts, Good Friends.

I don't know Andrea but, she had a fun gallery [in my style].  I CASE'd this card;

While I CASE'd Andrea's card, I also made my butterfly embellies! Yesterday, I went shopping with my online friend Peggy [who was visiting Arizona for the week end] and I saw these at one of the stores:

Needless to say, I thought I would save money and make my own!  I have to say, I am rather thrilled with the way they turned out :). I am also entering this in to Less is More's challenge - piercing.

Speaking of Peggy, here is a photo we took of one of the few brick and mortar stores in Chandler, Arizona;

That's Peggy on the left, Nic [store owner] in the middle, and of course me. We shopped till we dropped and had a blast!  Thanks Peggy for a fun time [and lunch!].

Thanks for stopping by~

SCS Sketch Challenges

This is the card I made for the SCS sketch challenge -- unfortunately, it was LAST week's sketch.  Sheez.  I thought the card was cute, I will use it (and or sell it), so I went ahead and uploaded it.  I used the fun MFP stamp set Oh Boy, it's a Girl.  I love the little animals on this set.

 When I saw the correct sketch, I had to play!  I adore this type of sketch with the frame like look.  Once again, I used Mark's Finest Papers stamps - set In My Mother's Garden.  I used partial stamping - I like the cats - appropriate in a garden.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge

Paper Craft Planet is running a sketch challenge and the prize is a 1 year subscription to Card Maker Magazine! Well, I had to play.. and FAST I had 50 minutes before the challenge was over~~
I popped over to Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge and saw this - perfect I adore stripes and dots
Then, I also wanted to play in Tami Mayberry's blast from her past this month, so I used 2 of her sets from Gina K Designs,  Stars and Perfect Pennants.  This turned out to be quite the conglomerate card for challenges. Overall, I had fun playing, and I loved the fact I got this all done - including photographing AND uploading all in the allotted 50 minutes~ Whew - Now, let's hope I am the lucky winner~~ :)

 This is for a couple of challenges, along with another inspiration challenge.  One Layer Wednesday 48 is a sympathy card with out flowers or trees, and my fellow team mate on Speedy's challenge, Harriet Skelly, is Queen for the Day (week) over at SCS, and I found this inspiration from SCS

All put together and I came up with my CASE/ sympathy card.  I used PTI's Dot Spot, and for the sentiment I dug out is There She Goes, Here for You.  I had a fun Friday night~~ back to the real work tomorrow.  Sometimes a girl just has to play~~ :)

Thanks for popping by~~

Featured Stamper - Heather

Initially, Heather was chosen as Queen For The Day over at SCS, by 9pm last night she was ALSO chosen as Featured Stamper!  WOW!  Double recognition - that is wonderful for her.  Great for me too since I got to CASE 2 of her fabulous cards!  What a fabulous gallery she has! I had to CASE this card because of the colors and of course the butterfly.
I used my favorite butterfly from Hero Arts.  Someone in blogland does this amazing highlighting with a white gel pen - doesn't that just make this bfly pop!  Love this little trick.  I used my new DOTS embossing folder from my friend cuttlebug, added some lace (that's all I had - so sad) and a few gems and this CASE was complete.

This second card I CASED is from her bow. Sometimes I just need to force myself to use my bow easy.  It's not like it is hard, it's just being left handed I struggle with this little tool.  My colors are from Curtain Call 44 - I wasn't sure about them, but as usual, once I get the card made I end up liking the combination!  This is a little sneak peek of Mark's Finest Papers Thankful Mums and Pumpkins.
Thanks so much for stopping in - see you tomorrow!!

Color Challenge SCS

My To Do List is getting smaller, and I am forgetting basic things like POSTING TO MY BLOG!  Sheez - what a dork~LOL.  I was thrilled to see the color challenge included yellow - actually it was Barely Banana - but I had pre-colored this awesome little VW Bug from Clear Dollar Stamps and I thought it worked quite well.  This car is just so fun - I had so many mention the memories it brought back for them.  My DH has a friend who restores VW's so I will send this on to him.  Thanks for stopping by~~

Color Challenge SCS

WOW!  Is it nice to be back!  5 days without stamping....makes me really cranky!  LOL.  Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes!  We had fun on our trip - we lost [naturally] but had fun.  The trip home took 9 HOURS!  There was an accident on the freeway - 2 hours they SHUT UR DOWN.  Good thing we had water and I had some magazines~~ craziness.

I just had to play in this week's color challenge - my fav kraft with red and bermuda.  I knew I was going to love these colors together and guess what?  I did!  Betty does an outstanding job of getting us out of our boxes and really challenges us to use those colors!  I love it~~  My images are a sneak peek of one of the 4 new sets coming out at Mark's Finest Papers~ Cupcake Birthday.  I'll be posting more peeks of these wonderful images over the next few weeks.

I really need to get back into using techniques and/or tips for you all.  It's fun for me when I learn something new on other blogs - I am always in such a hurry to 'get er done' that I am lacking in my goal of tips and tricks on my blog .  I will hopefully get back to that area~~  My goal?  100 followers so I can give away some blog candy~~  pass the word... LOL  Thanks for stopping in~~

Inspiration Challenge 231

I always look forward to this challenge.  Gosh some of the cards that are done are amazing creations based off of the inspiration they chose.    I needed to use my Clear Dollar stamps, and these colors were perfect for such fun images!  Don't you agree?  I used the gel pen trick of dots to do a little highlighting - I really like the way it helps the images to pop.

Sketch challenge at SCS

This is my card for the SCS sketch challenge.  It is a very nice sketch and actually very easy.  I sure like the look.  I used my Clear Dollar Stamp set A Bird-day Hi.  I love all types of birds (I am sure you all know that by now lol) and this one is so fun!  I stamped him on colored cardstock (along with the balloon) just to see how it would work.  Not to shabby actually.  I wasn't thrilled with my color choice, but the more I look the better it gets. Plus, DH said it looked cute so I went with it!  Isn't he a cutie? (the bird - though DH is a cutie too- hee hee.)  CDS is now selling paper and ribbon that MATCH - as with the red paper and red ribbon I used, both are called Strawberry Jam.  Does that make it easy to shop or what!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my STV sketch, along with the Stampin B's weekly challenge (its a good one..).  See ya later...

Clean & Simple Challenge - Mom's Day/ flowers

This is my card from the CAS challenge over at SCS.  At lease here you can see it!

Isn't it almost scary how dependent we have become on computers and/or sites~~ Seriously, when they don't work TOTAL FRUSTRATION - which is what I am experiencing with SCS all week end.  Cards? Nope can't see them - you can just see the title unless you pull it up to see it..  Apparently they are "having problems" - gee, ya think? - Okay that's my rant for the day - LOL.
Back to my card, I have been on a CAS kick this week end and also today, 1 stamp, punched flowers, a few gems and I'm done.  Not that crazy about this one, but it fit the challenge for a mom's day card and/or flowers.  I was going to put this is my blog challenge (red, white and blue) but I can't - I didn't use the right stamp.  Being the Team Coordinator, I am limited to only MFP stamps - however, I can share it with you!

Speaking of blog challenge - have you come on over to play?  Pretty easy challenge, red, white and blue - YOU can use any stamps you want!  The random winner receives 1 set of the new May stamp releases!  How cool is that~~  A few of you have entered and I REALLY APPRECIATE the support!  I want this challenge blog to be successful~~
Since SCS has asked us not to upload today, I am going to get busy and set up a few challenge cards I need to make.  Bye for now~~

Features Stamper - Michelle

Since I went and sold my mom's day cards, I need at least 2 for myself - what better way to make needed cards than make them for a challenge!  [2 fer works for me]  Michelle has a great gallery and I chose this beautiful and elegant card to CASE.

This week end I have been into CAS cards and this was pretty clean and simple to make for sure!  I love red and white together!

Well my friends I am off to Lowes - DH is going to RE-do my stamp room closest!!  Would you be interested in pictures of before and after?   I can't WAIT!  I have so much clutter in my stamp room - it is going to be wonderful to have more storage space!  WA HOO!!  Later,

Inspiration Challenge

What a morning - it's almost noon and I still HAVE NOT MADE A CARD~  I have been on the computer all am commenting - that was ALOT of comments I left~~ I wanna stamp....I am uploading what I did last pm for the Inspiration challenge over at SCS.  I had fun with both of these, but I just love this one -

"The Shoe" - it is a 3x3 tiny little card - I think I am going to make a set of these with a purse, hat, shoe, and a dress.  How adorable would that be!  If I do - you will see it since I post so much on here! LOL

This set of cards was originally inspired by Carol -she is Queen for the Day over at SCS.  I was further inspired by a mirror on the inspiration site Jazz it Up.  I can't link (you end up in general site rather than specific)... just trust me! LOL  Edited: This also fits the CP sketch #62 espcially the belly band portion insert.  I just don't have the embellies -

I used ALL my new sets I received from Clear Dollar Stamps - how fun are these sets.  I used a recycled body butter jar as my holder.  Even though I washed it, it still has a faint scent which will make the cards have a subtle scent also- how perfect that will be!  I also used CDS paper.  I was happy with the  quality of this wonderful  paper.  On this Mustard Seed I used, there is a subtle texture that I just adore!  What is great about the paper is Lori has coordinating ribbon AND Tombow markers that all have the same name!  Gosh, does that make it easy for shopping~~  She is running a special for May.  Check it out!

Okay - I am off to stamp!  I have a few "due" projects to work on, but I am sure I will return at some point today..  Thanks for stopping by~~
