Step 5. Configuring integration with the Apache web server

At this step, you must configure integration of the web interface of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server with the Apache web server.

To configure integration of the web interface of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server with the Apache web server:

  1. Specify the type of integration you want to configure for the web interface of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server and the Apache web server. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to configure integration via a virtual host determined by the name of the Apache web server (name-based), type name.
    • If you want to configure integration via a virtual host determined by the port number of the Apache web server (port-based), type port.

      This option is selected by default.

    • If you want to configure integration via a domain directory that stores files of the web interface of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server (dir-based), type dir.

      To ensure protection of personal information transmitted over the network the web interface of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server supports only secure connections (HTTPS) and does not allow insecure connections (HTTP).

      When you configure integration with the Apache web server via a domain directory for Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server installed on CentOS 7.4, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4, or Rocky Linux 8.7 from installation packages created for those operating systems, the web interface is automatically configured to use secure connection (HTTPS).

      When you configure integration with the Apache web server via a domain directory if Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server is installed on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP3, FreeBSD 11.1, Debian 9.4, Ubuntu 14.04 and other supported operating systems from installation packages created for those operating systems, the administrator of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server must manually configure the web interface of the application to use secure connection (HTTPS) for integration with the Apache web server.

  2. Press ENTER.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If you selected the name option at step 1, enter the name of the virtual host for the Apache web server.
    • If you selected the port option at step 1, type the port number used for connection to the the Apache web server.

      The default option is 9045.

    • If you selected the dir option during step 1 of the procedure, enter the path to the folder that will contain the files of the Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server web interface.

      The klms directory is offered by default.

  4. Press ENTER.
