[HalfAMoon 7] Donna Noble (Doctor Who)

THE SHORT VERSION: All the universe sings her song.
"Listen, I don't know what sort of kids you've been flying around with in outer space but you're not telling me to shut up."
Unfortunately, this show tends to be a love song to The Doctor for the most part but damn, his Companions are way more awesome than he is, in my opinion. Donna, is a magnificent example. She's curious, loud, assertive, colorful, and has a great capacity for love and empathy. She's a bit insecure, but she possesses a sense of inner "I'm awesome"; she just needed to get away from the people who didn't see it to understand it.
A great companion for someone with The Doctor's ego, she consistently refuses to be blind to the Doctor's faults- calling him on his bullshit in every episode. She's compassionate beyond belief- her immediate response to an insane Ood once she realizes it's in pain is asking The Doctor to heal it. The Doctor insists that Pompeii's destruction is a fixed point in time, Donna demands that they save at least one person. They save an entire family.
Donna is made of awesome and is totally my favorite (though to be honest, all companions are for various reasons).
