Young Link is a character in The Legend of Zelda series, though only named Young Link in the Super Smash Bros. games and Hyrule Warriors. He is the child incarnation of the Hero of Time from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

In these games, Link starts the game as a kid in order to show his growth from naive child to brave and heroic knight. At the start of Ocarina of Time, he can only equip the dagger-like Kokiri Sword and fights with toy-like weapons, like the Deku Stick, Deku Nut and Boomerang. Upon obtaining the Master Sword, he becomes an adult and is now able to equip heavy equipment and weapons, like the bow and arrow, Hookshot, Megaton Hammer and Biggoron's Sword and can ride his horse, Epona to travel the overworld faster. This growth carries over to his appearance in Majora's Mask, where he's now much more mature and can use the bow and arrow and hookshot and ride Epona thanks to his experiences as Adult Link.

This Link was orphaned as an infant during a bloody civil war that took place a decade before the events of Ocarina of Time. His mother, mortally wounded, fled into the Lost Woods and before dying offered him to the Great Deku Tree and Kokiri people who raised him as one of their own.

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Young Link made his debut in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Young Link differs from adult Link by being faster, more agile and lighter; but because he yet lacks the strength to wield the Master Sword his attacks are weaker and he instead wields the child-sized Kokiri Sword. He was cut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, being replaced by Toon Link (from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker), but made his triumphant return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
