Captain Alph is a Koppaite in the Pikmin series and one of the three main characters of Pikmin 3. He in an engineer and his ship, the S.S. Drake was given to him by his grandfather. Alph is overall a positive and confident character who respects his captain, Charlie, and see him as a role model. He was one of the three members of the expedition sent to recover edible matter from PNF-404 and save Koppai from starvation, the other two being Charlie himself and a biologist named Brittany.
Pikmin series[]
Pikmin 3[]
Alph appears as one of the three available captains along with Captain Charlie and Brittany. Alph gets stranded by himself and discovers the species Red Pikmin which aid him to find the other captain who he got seperated from.
Later he saves both Brittany and Charlie. Then they run into Louie who they mistake for Olimar, who took their cosmic key drive. They take Louie, save him from 2 bosses and Louie tells them where Olimar truly is. After they save him from the Plasm Wraith and grab the key, they leave safely. However, they leave Louie behind.

Alph in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Alph appears as a costume swap for Captain Olimar in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U. He is no different than Olimar, but he is the only costume swap that has the announcer says his name instead of the original character (besides the Koopalings). He also appears as a trophy.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Alph returns as an alternate costume for Olimar, like all the others important enough alternate costumes, he gets his own Fighter Spirit that can be obtained by completing Classic Mode with him or by buying it at the shop.
