Interstellar is and I think always be my all time favorite film. I don't think I could ever do this film justice with a review but I'm going to try.
There's a lot of themes that Interstellar tries to tackle in its almost 3hr runtime, the most important and pervasive theme though is love. How love can be so powerful that it can transcend the vastness of space and the confines of time. None of this would be as impactful as it is though without two key aspects. The performances and the score.
The performances from the entire cast are simply sublime. McConaughey puts in the second best performance of his career behind only True Detective. Despite what I've heard many people say I thought Hathaway was phenomenal and it's certainly the best performance of her career. Matt Damon Is phenomenal as well and elevated what was already my favorite part of the film. There's so many amazing performances in this film each and every one of the elevating the film in one form or another.
The score is equally fantastic. Zimmer created something truly magnificent with this score. From Cornfield Chase and No Time for Caution to Day One and Mountains the score is perfection. Even though I've seen this film 8 times now the docking scene still gives me goosebumps and that's all thanks to No Time for Caution.
I would be remiss however if I ended this review without talking about the cinematography. Just like the two previous paragraphs the cinematography is perfect. Absolutely stunning in every respect, it immerses you in the journey and makes for one that you wont ever forget.
