"Do not go gentle into that good night, old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
Getting to see this in IMAX was truly remarkable! We weren't expecting to get a showing of this where we live so when it popped up we immediately got our tickets! This first time I saw this was at home so the sound design never really hit as hard as it did this time. The overall sounds of the film were so loud that the scenes that went silent had such a huge impact. Interstellar is so beautifully complex in a way that really captivated me. I think upon rewatch I understood this more than I did the first time. Connections we have to people go along way especially in this film. We see lost connections from Cooper's family but then when he's on the ship he makes new connections with his shipmates. Decades of their lives gone in the matter of minutes. Goes to show how far a little reassurance goes. There are so many times where someone is about to lose it mentally and then they look to someone for advice, just like that everything is okay. Within those connections there were many sacrifices that were made throughout this film. Do you save a few to let millions die or spare a few to save millions? Love is a huge part of this film. It is something that has always confused me because how do you explain love? It's something that just happens and cant be created or programmed. This film is so beautifully shot as well! I love so many of shots from space. Matthew McConaughey's acting is so good. The scene where he was watching the tapes after years went by when he was crying had me in tears. Such a great film and I think rewatching it has given me a whole new appreciation for it!
