Oppenheimer ---- 2023

J. Robert Oppenheimer is a scientist. He's a really important guy when it comes to the Manhattan Project. He plays a incredibly crucial role in creating the Atomic Bomb which help end WW2.

But after the war ends certain people in power start questioning whether or not J. Robert has any ties to communist organizations. And while the truth seems rather complicated, there might be someone out to get Oppenheimer.

Will J. Robert's reputation be ruined? If so how much? Can he prove there is a conspiracy out to get him?

Oppenheimer was one of my most anticipated movies of 2023 and very much lived up the hype that I had for it.

I wasn't exactly sure if it could actually live up to my hype, but slowly but surely as the movie went on, my doubts went away.

This is a movie, as you can probably guess, is largely based on J. Robert Oppenheimer, but it is also very much an ensemble drama as well, since it's important to show the various people that helped shape J. Robert's life and how he became the person he ended up being and how he made the decisions that he ended up making.

And Christopher Nolan and and a strong stable of actors do an incredibly good job make the whole thing work. There are plenty of good actors who might only have a few scenes in this movie but still manage to leave a positive impression.

And Nolan himself,as you might expect, brings his many talents to bring this story to life. It might be easy to take Nolan for granted by this point, but it still should be said that he an incredibly good job in directing this picture.

At 3 Hours Oppenheimer might seem intimidating, but hopefully that won't scare people away this project. It has most than enough of a plot to keep things going at a nice clip throughout it's run time.

One last thought here: I usually try to be reasonably optimistic when trying to review a movie, but I usually try to make a conscious decision to try to go overboard and not rate a movie five stars until I go back and give it a re-watch.

But for the first time in roughly years I'm bypassing this personal rule of mine and giving Oppenheimer Five Stars.
