Well, there went the first week of school. I'm doing pretty good as far as I know and I'm looking forward to whatever's in store for me. What I am certain of is that it's gonna be hard, and I mean REALLY hard. Right off the bat, my peers and professors alike have been giving us a heads up on how crammed our schedule is and the shitload of things that are planned for this year. My biggest regret from last year is that I wasn't keeping a healthy balance between spare time and studying, and just kinda wasted it all until the last few weeks. This time, I want to make an effort to be more efficient in this regard, but whatever spare time I have left at the moment is spent on playing video games, meaning that whatever chance remains to watch movies will mostly be left for the weekends.
I hope y'all can excuse me if I'm going to be less active for the next few months. I'm definitely still going to the cinema here and there and will pick up on certain recommendations from my teachers, but it's not going to be a daily activity anymore and I won't be able to constantly look at everyone's reviews. Feel free to still leave a comment whenever you like because I can always spare a minute to have a talk.
That said, I am still preparing myself for the following month, now that we're entering that time for spooks and screams again. Last year, I didn't really bother to play along with this event because most of the films I saw ended up being dogshit. While I definitely like to be a part of the crowd, I also don't want to make any first viewings this month overambitious because almost every single time I've done that, it ended up being a massive disappointment.
I'm not sure how I'm gonna celebrate the genre of horror this year. Maybe I'll only do rewatches, maybe I'll do something as silly as deliberately watching terrible schlock, but to be quite honest, I'm not all that excited about Halloween anyway. I'm actually looking more forward to playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time, and who knows how much time I have left to watch movies when I finish those games? For the record, you are absolutely allowed to use that topic as an excuse to talk about video games in the comments if you want.
So yeah, that's pretty much it. I hope you guys can understand my situation. I wish y'all the best of luck this year as well, and let's pray to our beloved inner demons that our sanity will still be in tact by the end of all this.
