Hey, y’all. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but I just wanted to give you guys some updates on how my job at my local movie theater is going so far.
I’m happy to report that it’s been going great so far. I’m working as a cook at my theater, and despite some rushes of customers, it’s been pretty laid back. My coworkers have been really nice and a lot of them share some of my interests.
I also wanted to talk about what it’s been like working during Deadpool & Wolverine weekend. I have three back-to-back closing shifts (tonight is my last night of the three), and I was really worried that it was going to be stressful, but I’m happy to report it hasn’t been so far. Our manager has scheduled a ton of people in the kitchen for Deadpool & Wolverine weekend, and I haven’t fallen behind yet, which was something that would sometimes happen at my previous jobs. But overall, it’s just really cool to see people come together to see this movie. I have yet to see it, but I’ve seen countless people in Deadpool and Marvel related outfits, and the majority of our auditoriums are showing it. It’s just been a while since I’ve seen such anticipation for a movie, and I’m excited to be a part of it when I go see Deadpool & Wolverine this coming Friday.
Finally, I wanted to share the perks I get. For a film lover, they’re absolute heaven. I get free movies all the time (unless they’re distributed by Disney, in which employees have to wait 2 weeks after its release to see it for free). I also get to bring one other person with me for free, and we both get free popcorn and a drink. You can also request posters in advance for when the theater is done using them. There’s also posters in the break room that anyone can take. Plus, the pay is really good and you get 30% off of kitchen food if you work back there.
