Citizen Kane 1941
You never give me anything I really care about.
The most powerful people reek of insecurity.
The desire to be loved drives us all. For some, just one is enough.
For others, no amount of it will ever be enough.
You can’t do this to me.

Anatomy of a Murder 1959
Good movie! A little long and expectedly misogynistic but hey, whaddya gonna do?

The Godfather 1972
Watched as a lead up to Coppola’s new cut of III (which @mods should be on LB) and damn, what a picture.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: absolutely nothing beats a death montage.

The Godfather Part II 1974
“Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners.”
Michael Corleone pulls the world down around him. No one is safe from his rage.
The Godfather Part II walked so Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again could run.
P.S. The flashbacks rule. I’m just an idiot.

The Godfather Part II 1974
Long movies are the best movies.
Things really fell into place with this latest viewing of Godfather: Part II. Yes, even the flashbacks I was meh on before have grown on me. Exponentially in fact.

Everything else is simply some of the best filmmaking we’ve ever seen. This movie expands the scope of…

All the President's Men 1976
Jason Robards probably gives one of my 20 or so favorite performances of all time in this. He plays Ben Bradlee as the cool, measured statesman of journalism we all know him to be. Love it.

The Empire Strikes Back 1980
My first trip back to the theater!
It felt a little weird at first, but that went away and I was just... happy. Wearing a mask is totally worth it.
Good movie!

Raiders of the Lost Ark 1981
Watched after Joe Biden became the President-elect.
And before he’d speak to the nation for the first time as such.
Very good film.

Blade Runner 1982
#FinalCutBestCut
Easily a top 5 movie all time in terms of production design. Shit’s unreal.
As I anticipated long ago, I’ve liked this more and more every time I’ve seen it. With every viewing, even this where I’m almost 25, I feel like I’m breaking some kind of rule by watching it? Like this is a movie for adults and I can’t see it yet.
