The Dark Knight 2008
Hard to believe that 8 years ago today, my world was turned
completely upside-down.In my most recent re-watch of The Dark Knight (close to the 20th time I've seen the damn thing) I was once again filled with complete and total satisfaction. This is everything you could ask for from a movie.
Before superheroes and franchises were concerned more with protecting a brand and keeping the money coming in, Christopher fucking Nolan showed the world how good comic-book based…

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 2011
One of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time just gets better and better. I've seen this movie 5 or so times now and I've liked it more and more with each viewing.
P.S. As much as I want the trilogy to be completed, the fact that Alfredson is teaming up with Fassbender for an adaptation of one of my favorite books, The Snowman, is the best possible consolation prize.

Steve Jobs 2015
"Oops I did it again"
Yeah, my mom wanted to see this so I watched it again. Danny Boyle must be a magician because even though this is the third time I've seen this (2nd in the last few days) it still felt brand new????? Like how?????
I love this movie so so so so so so so much.

Steve Jobs 2015
WOW. What an experience. What a movie. I went from liking it a lot when I first watched it, to a 5 star, all time favorite potential after watching it for a second time.
I can also say with the utmost confidence that Act II (pre next launch) was the best 30 or so minutes of filmmaking that 2015 had to offer.
There are still a few movies I liked more from 2015, but hardly none that I respect more.

Interstellar 2014
This is one of those kinds of movies that really comes together on the 3rd or 4th watch. Some may not have that kind of patience, but I sure as hell do, especially with someone like Chris Nolan who has undoubtedly earned the benefit of the doubt.
Interstellar is a piece of art, splattered across the canvas of space. A sci-fi adventure to end all sci-fi adventures. As someone who thinks 2001 is a monumental bore, Nolan is able to…

The Godfather Part II 1974
So, I kinda-sorta-really don't like origin stories :/
For whatever reason they just don't do it for me (besidesX-Men: First Class) and this movie is no different. I'm head over heels in love with Michael Corleone's section of the film and while I certainly respect the section where we see young Vito's life, I couldn't care less about it.
I like mystery in a character. Especially in a character as cool and well played as Vito Corleone. Not saying that…

V for Vendetta 2005
I don't typically like to throw the P-word around, but in this case, I will make an exception.
While it may be an unpopular opinion (for some unknown reason), I think V for Vendetta is a perfect movie. Not a comic book movie, not an action movie, a movie. More of a film, come to think of it.
The Wachowski's absolutely NAILED this script that never lags, is full of twists and turns and some of the best character development I've ever seen.
Say something negative about this movie. I triple-dog-fucking dare you.

Batman 1989
Still dark. Still hilarious. Still beautiful.
Not only is Tim Burton's film the first live action Batman film in the modern era, it may be the truest adaptation of the comic book (of its time, at least) we've seen so far.
At the end of the day, my love for this movie comes down to two things. Jack Nicholson and the production design.
First of all, Nicholson wonderfully conveys my favorite side of Joker. The side that would shoot a…
