I watched the movie twice last year, read the book over the summer, finished the audiobook a couple weeks ago, finished the TV show today, and now here’s rewatch #7 or something.

Man, this movie just delivers. It’s something I never knew I wanted until I saw it. I just wish I had gone to see it in the theaters when it first came out. Would have been a transcendent experience I’m sure.

    This is cinema.

Add a little film grain and you’ve got yourself a perfect movie right here.

This probably sounds dumb given the 90+ years of great films, but V’s third murder is probably one of my 10 favorite scenes ever. The tenderness and the note it ends in just gives me chills everytime I watch it.

    ★★★★★

Batman is a top-tier comic book movie just for that visual aesthetic, so Jack’s incredible performance as one of the only three good Jokers is just icing on the cake.

Bumping up to the Full Five, baby!

It probably won’t jump Django on my Tarantino list since it’s not as kinetic, but I think it might be Quentin’s best movie overall.

Like wine, QT gets better with age.

    “The action is the juice.”

    Hell yeah it is.

    Best action movie ever.

    Top tier Pacino.

    Top tier De Niro.

Movies don’t get much better than this.

  • The Batman

    The Batman

Rain. Fire. An old, decaying Gotham City?

I am 1,000,000% fucking in on this.

  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    ★★★★★

I knew it would happen eventually.

It’s clear to me now that this is the best Star Wars movie.

Anyone else find it really weird they didn’t finish the trilogy and just ended it at 8? Crazy!

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

    ★★★★

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a movie rely so much on news footage to tell its story. Snyder uses it for exposition, literally explaining the story as it happens and providing commentary so the audience gets what he's going for.

This movie is so dumb. I love it.

If the Snyder Cut isn’t this dopey and nonsensical, I will be very disappointed.

It’s always nice to catch one of your top 20 on the big screen for the first time.

What I picked up on this viewing is how the film never really endorses Graysmith’s point of view. It follows him, it hears him out but it never gives in.

I’ve read up enough about the case to know that while it probably was Allen, there is, as with all of the suspects, PLENTY of evidence pointing towards innocence as much as it does guilt.

We’re never going to know for sure.

But some people sure love talking about it.

For real this is peak Fincher. He’s firing at all cylinders, but somehow I could never get into Mindhunter lol
