The Hellenic Republic, known simply as Greece, is a country in Southeastern Europe, which borders Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east, and is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.
While the Grand Theft Auto series was never explicitly banned in Greece, the country gained an infamous reputation in the gaming community when Law 3037/2002 was passed in 2002, which effectively banned all gaming in public places (the law itself was poorly worded and vague) in order to combat illicit gambling, but was eventually overturned in 2011.
Greece is frequently mentioned in the Grand Theft Auto series. Like other European countries, Greece uses the PEGI ratings system.
