The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, more commonly known as North Korea, is a country located on the Korean Peninsula in eastern Asia. It is bordered by China and Russia to the north and South Korea to the south.
No Grand Theft Auto games are released in North Korea due to government regulations that strictly prohibit almost any media from the outside world, including music, video games, movies, and television shows. Nonetheless, Grand Theft Auto games are commonly bootlegged in North Korea, and according to some sources, are rarely confiscated by authorities.[1]
There are a few references to the country in the series.
