The Republic of Nicaragua, simply known as Nicaragua, is a country in Central America. It is bordered by Honduras to the north-west, the Caribbean to the east, Costa Rica to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the south-west.

- Ray Machowski saw military action in Nicaragua, allegedly alongside Phil Cassidy. In the Grand Theft Auto III mission Arms Shortage, Phil claimed he lost his left arm after being wounded in Nicaragua. This is retconned in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, where it was revealed Phil actually lost his arm in a boomshine explosion.
